Has anyone seen that scene in Being John Malkovitch when Montado pops out and all he says (correction: all everyone says) is “Mask mask mask! Mask, mask, mask mask masks mask. Mask, mask mask? Mask, mask mask mask masks. Mask mask!”

I feel like I’m living in that movie.

You have an unfunny interpretation of the word "free." The problem is exactly the actions that are allowed to be taken on the public for refusal.
It's cute now, but soon they're going to carve into some freedoms that you actually do care about.

Teachers are at home working in a laptop vaccinated meanwhile the union-less hotel staff without a voice are literally right in harms way at quarantine hotels, unvaccinated. Who’s idea was this?

Looks like those last months gains are all gone. 200k jobs gone. Lots of small businesses that were hanging in for the past year are throwing in the towel.

When daily deaths are down to nearly nothing and your mayors, provincial and federal leaders are saying beaches might need to be closed this summer, school may need to be online till September, we will still need to wear masks until 2022... it’s no wonder people are closing up shop.

Why can’t the government make a plan to reopen... air Canada is asking for that plan... put pen to paper on what needs to be achieved to eliminate what restrictions. People are tired of all this unknown maybe this maybe that garbage. We keep hearing it’s not safe to reopen... not safe for who? 50 percent of people in Ontario have their first shot of vaccine and we are getting another 150k people in a day to add to that list. It’s time to open!

As in the urban, particularly coastal areas of The States, only woke corporations will survive, due to copious amounts of government funding. Who is going to push masks, mom and pop or CostCo? Who is more likely to tell you to jab yourself or starve, the local merchant, or WalMart? It's so transparent that it is hard for the average Joe to wrap his numb skull around.

Luckily, the average Joe has you to be hero and tell him what to think? That’s your contention?

You've managed to capture the essence and the spirit of exactly what I didn't say at all. Masterful performance.

No, he has his smartphone to tell him what to do, just like you. Every time he scrolls the social media feed, he gets a dopamine hit. Media's a hell of a drug!

America is maybe a month ahead of us in vaccination and daily case counts per capita. Let's be honest most people are already going mask less there. Bars are open etc. And fauci is pretending to be in control and is now saying maybe we can go mask less indoors.

So how far are we behind on policy? Do you figure in a month or two we will be saying the same thing? I have my doubts. Anyone here who has been travellingto America for work knows life is basically normal there. Canadians don't seem ready for normal. Depressing really. Latest rumor in Ontario is restrictions will be extended... Ya know those people golfing are the real problem here... "two more weeks of no golf and we can be normal everyone!"

Fresh Tweet from Doug Ford. With incompetent governments like this at a provincial AND federal level, I think many pilots in Canada can kiss their careers goodby.

Just got back from LA, life is back to normal there, and they had the strictest lockdown in the US.

My fear is with the government pulling messaging and ads like they have against travel the last few weeks it will be impossible for them to open up travel because it would be contradictory messaging and hurt them politically.

I think if i was getting into the career or just started I would be looking for a new path in life or get the hell out of this SHITHOLE called Canada if you can.
