were I a Skywardian, I'd be shooting out resume's faster than a Humvee's 50 cal shoots lead.
It would be interesting to see if all the pilots come back if and when there is a recall. Tough call. Most of the senior guys will hold a bond, but have enough hours to have that option. How long does one wait to see if there still is a job for them at Skyward? Who is to say that the company will recover, or that their a/c type will not be grounded? Who is to say that it wont? Throw into that the temptation of prime hiring season.
Not so fortunate in this equation are the CoJo's with under 1000 hrs. Most f/o's are PCC only. What would you do as a ramp guy who's been there for 20+ months? Do you go somewhere else to start again. Or do you go to the Skyward Pastor and pray to Jebas/Alah/Buddha that this will all blow over. Wow, I'm getting depressed just thinking about it.
If this is true, I'm sorry to hear it. It would be a sad day for aviators in MB and elsewere. I'm sure alot of guys and gals got their start up in YTH.
As for the rest .. If they are a Skyward employee whats the worst thats going to happen?!?!? .. They don't have a job to worry about already!?! ..
And if they aren't employee's .. why would you hide anyways?! What the hell do you have to worry about when the company your slinging the shit about isn't even your company! .. get over it .. Thompsonav8rboy obviously isn't affraid of any retribution, mind you he still has a positive outlook which is very refreshing .. .. keeping the spirits up, and remaining positive are key during times like this ..
Localizer, my "man"... Unlike your typical Air Canada chumps, I do not put anything up my ass. Keep your Richard Geer fantasies in your unionized government hand-out glorified civil-servant job. I don't take any shit from someone who works for a company that gets more handouts than an Indian Reserve.
Trowl .. What makes you think im an ac employee?!?!? .. Just cuz there is an avatar with an ac symbol?! .. So does that mean Thompsonav8rboy is an ex-CP pilot?!? .. must be i guess .. you just ASS-ume too much .. hope thats a quality you leave out when you're in an a/c.
Richard Geer?!? .. really .. i guess your social skills only go as far as trying to lable/demean ppl to be funny?! .. still in high school or are planning on getting past that stage eventually and grow up? ..
Localizer, In such a small company and without much other things to do in YTH, it's very easy to figure out who someone is after a couple posts. Seeing as you can look back on past posts, especially if it involves the inner workings of the company.
I no longer work at K9, but I'm sure most of the employees reading this know who I am.
I hope that Skyward is able to get up flying soon. There are a great bunch of pilots flying and slugging it out on the ramp and some of the guys have been on the ramp too long.
Just to clarify though, Skyward does indeed have a chaplain that is seperate from one of the owners. The chaplain is a great guy and I think the company did mean well when hiring him, however, seeing as most of the pilots aren't religious or not pentecostal, it probably didn't have the desired affect for company morale.
Thee are some great poeple that work at this company. My heart and thoughts are with the those who are, and are about to be laid off. Its hard finding that first job in aviation and those poor guys that have been spending 20 odd months on the ramp must be discouraged as hell.
DON'T GIVE UP!!!!!!!!! there are other jobs out there, not many, but there are some. Look at it this way maybe the next job you apply for, the CP will have a heart and see what you went thru, and hire you out of pitty. (a job is a job)
Yes S&J we all now know that you hate Skyward and they are a bunch of "fukin" idiots. we all now know that if it was run they way you want it everyone would be happy and employed.
Your point has been taken, noted, and filed. enough is enough.
Yes I too use to work across the ramp and no I am NOT shocked that this has happened. Yes I've herd all of the rumors, a lot more than what has been posted here. But I regard them as just rumors and not fact. So I care not to sread them. Wait untill you hear something official.
Enugh with the " little birdies, herd it from a buddies buddy, the fuel guy or any one else that has an opinion" lets just wait untill the MAN has something to say.
The point is that there are some fantastic people that work,(worked) there and there is a lot of speculation as to the future of the company.
These people, not just pilots, but clerical, maint., reservations, van drivers, and smaller managment types that had their hands tied and are NOT responsible for what has happened there, are facing a real unshure future. They have mouths to feed, and rent to pay
I feel real terrible for all of those affected.
Just please no more RUMORS lets just wait for something offical.
enough is enough! can't we all just collectively hope that all the poor basterds can get there jobs back. so let's give them a break and maybe that crazy spokesman on CBC radio today is on the money, and they will be flying on tuesday feb 15, next week. and yes that little birdy told another tail, maintenance IS being contracted out! and the cheese is gone.
S&J is merely pointing out the obvious...here are the facts. Yeah skyward had a lot of great people, but that doesn't change the fact that their management has burried their heads up their asses. Let's review the facts. Their operation was weak and deficient in several ways which I won't get into. They said that they voluntarily suspended themselves to "work out some maintenance issues". Within 48 hours the OC was pulled by TC (nice try). They have since lost their MED licence and AMO. During all of this, various companies in the region have lent a helping hand (for various reasons) to cover skyward's flights and keep their customers from getting screwed (ie bought tickets and can't go anywhere). This memo from skyterd's management is completely inaccurate and insulting to the companies that are pitching in. Another poorly executed lie to the customer. The sad thing is, half of these people actually buy this $hit.
Unfortunately, this limited service does not appear to meet our customers needs and in fact may be a cause of concern as we cannot provide the level of Skyward service that you have been accustomed to.
What a farce! The reality is that a regulatory body took skywards ability to sell tickets (their last remaining privilege), and that is why they are no longer available to charter these poor assisting companies. This memo was an insult to the rest of the players in Manitoba....I'm sure it won't be taken lightly or forgotten!
You like that "green machine" comment don't you! .. .. lol
Centerstored, S&J .. don't you think you might be reading a little to far into that letter to the customer? .. besides I don't think a metro can really be compared to a 1900 .. Your lucky to have any hearing after getting off one of those tubes! .. .. But like I said I think your reading a little too far into that letter, and taking it personal where I don't believe its meant like that at all.
I agree with totally with Cat .. this industry can't afford more hits like this .. we all need to show more support ..
Actually localizer, the message in that memo is plain as day. Read it again until you understand. I personally could care less, as I have no stake in either company. All I can say is that this letter pissed off the wrong bunch if you know what I mean. It sucks for the employees, and it sucks even harder for those managers who continue to make a mockery of themselves. It's got to be hard knowing that the people who messed it all up, and continue to pump out $hit like that letter, still have a pay cheque to put food on their tables during all of this.
Unfortunately, this limited service does not appear to meet our customers needs and in fact may be a cause of concern as we cannot provide the level of Skyward service that you have been accustomed to.
Allthough there are a few things with the memo I'm with you guys on, This previous statement could simply mean the number of flights per day into the communities (Ie: once daily to YOH instead of three times) Rather than "We don't feel Perimeter is good enough to carry our passengers"
I was around while the Bear, The Green Machine, Keystone, and Misinnipi were helping K9 out. The crews were all super nice and seemed to be doing their best to help us out. I'm quite sure that it did not go unnoticed.
The next thread heading might read something like this "TC shuts down (insert your company name here) after intensive audit" and now it is everyone elses turn to conjuncture and speculate as to why your company was shut down.
Although I have seen some support for those that work at Skyward I can't help wondering what all this negitive talk is doing to the young men and women who are following this thread and working for Skyward.
This little drama should send a message to all of you. Are you so squeeky clean that you can sit at your computer and metaphorically stick you tonque out at this company. Is your paperwork perfect? have you flown a plane even though you may have found some little thing wrong with it?
Any company that can say that they are not afraid of an audit is lying through their teeth. It is these guys (TC) job to find something wrong, that's what they are paid to do. I wish a speedy resolve to Skywards problems and to all those that will come next. Companies like Skyward have to survive or thier will be one less company out there willing to give young pilots their first chance in this industry

Not your avatar. Your inferior intelligence and limited vocabulary.
So does that mean Thompsonav8rboy is an ex-CP pilot?!? .. must be i guess .. you just ASS-ume too much .. hope thats a quality you leave out when you're in an a/c.
Very clever with the "assume" schtick. Someone was paying attention to their Tony Robins tapes.
Richard Geer?!? .. really .. i guess your social skills only go as far as trying to lable/demean ppl to be funny?!
Demeaning people? I wouldn't put you in the same catagory as "people". If you work real hard, and build up some karma, I might refer to you as a slug. You've already got the slime-trail going for you
.. still in high school or are planning on getting past that stage eventually and grow up? ..
The above is Localizers version of "I know you are but what am I". I wonder how to respond. Clearly Localizer has not been to college. Ah, I know what will get through to him. "Liar liar pants on fire".

Who is doing the maintenance? The "green machine"?
Mine was not intended as a provocative question. I really do want to know who has taken a maintenance contract with Skyward. Were all of Skyward's maintenance divisions operating under the same AMO? Were they all shutdown: avionics? structures? Thompson and Winnipeg?, etc.
