I think that the College should never have been a "College" in the first place but an Association, as I've stated before. It's a fundamental difference. But the alternative is nothing. So I support.
Of the new members, one is a rotary wing pilot, the other is a Flight Instructor. Everyone is not represented yet, but its getting there. The CPPC is a work in progress and will become what its active members make of it, not what pilots on the sidelines wish it was. It is not something controlled by a hidden hand with an agenda.

Re: College of pilots
Hi Gilles,
Yes, as an Association I might be persuaded to give the College my blessing - though given it's continued lack of diversity among other significant flaws I would still be unlikely to support the organization until it evolved considerably.
As a College I vehemently oppose it and to chose it in it's present condition on the premise that it is the only option and thus better than none is like suggesting we support the KKK to prevent the influx of TFW's simply due to the absence of other choices. I would rather have nothing than promote values I do not agree with.
You well know I am one to willingly step forward and actively contribute to and/or advocate for change if I feel there is merit in doing so. Since its inception I have seen little evidence of improvement and/or change in College's mission statement. Since I disagree with their approach and they remain resistant to change despite the majority input (which includes absence of support) this speaks to a losing battle and waste of my time and energy, which is better spent on things that I can, and will change by other means.
I remain open to revise my opinion(s) should circumstances change but in this case I won't be holding my breath.
Respectfully,
snoopy

Re: College of pilots
If an association why not go under ALPA, WJPA, or ACPA with a broader scope to cover all pilots? The decisions each of these associations have, have an affect on the industry as a whole in Canada as it is.
