Transmitters? That's why my dentist won't show me the x-rays.

See Static, this was the "holier than thou" attitude that no one liked...

You were no better than any other captain there... just because you had one way of doing things didn't make it any better than anyone else's way that accomplished the same mission safely.... get off your perch and come back to reality...

I guarantee I knew more about the airplane, more about operating it safely, and more about aviation than you know, or will ever know.
I also guarantee that you learned some very important things from me, and refused to learn others.

If the windshield shatters and we have nothing in the book, then I must use my skill and knowledge from many thousands of hours of effort to safely guide the plane groundward, but i shouldn't have to deal with that problem if everyone before me followed the rules.

Thinking outside the box is good for solving problems that we have created for ourselves or problems that others have created for us...ALL from breaking the rules
You live in a very seriously flawed world of fantasy.

If we start by following the rules, and everyone does it, things should work out, but as soon as someone throws a wrench into the mix, the rest of us must get creative, stray from the rules, and find ourselves in a unique and possibly dangerous situation.
C'mon Static, I have a hard time believing that. Am I to understand that if everyone followed 'the rules' like a bunch of religious robots nothing would ever happen? I invite you do spend some time flying floats or off-strip.

I will abide by regs and SOP's to help keep me safe. But I will not rely on them completely. I can only assume you're talking about Air 'Rules' in the above quote. As an example, 5 aircraft are joining the downwind for 23, but some ass wants to land on 05. Sure, he's not following the rules and 'throwing a wrench into the mix'. I see your point.

Don't get me wrong, rules and SOP's have their place. I know that for I too laughed in the devils face by flying single pilot IFR.
But after you've followed all the rules and done everything right, completed your checks, abided by the SOP's and something goes wrong...dude, ya just gotta look out for #1.

But the DC-10? What would you have done?

"oh...crap, there's nothing in the book about a fourth crew-member...you have control, I'll be in the back drinkin' Whiskey..."

...not a likely scenario.

Back on topic, yes those pilot's should have been fired.

I was always a little skeptical of Air Canada's psychological testing (I made it though), but after reading the last long winded rant from Static, I definitely understand now that the system works.

OMFG, the fact that you believe the shit you are spewing is making me sick to my stomach.

I know I was going to not post on this thread anymore, but it's like a car accident......

You are an immature little bastard.

Posting my picture on here is not your perogative. I am by no means anonymous, however that is crossing the line.

I call on the moderators to BAN Static for horribly violating the rules of posting.

So much for obeying the rules hey there jackass? You fucking hypocrite.

And the fact that you would bring in the ZTM accident shows just how fucking clouded your judgement is. It had nothing to do with SOPs and everything to do with somatographic illusion. Glad you are invincible.

I hope the next time you are commuting to work the flight is full and I am the pilot so I can politely ask the captain I am flying with to refuse you the jumpseat so as to avoid an aviation incident.

Enjoy Jazz, because that's as far as you will ever get in your career, and that is further than you ever should have gotten.

Static has been given a lengthy timeout for an exceptionally retarded display of immaturity on this forum.

Static, that was pretty shameful. You dishonor yourself with such actions.

If that isn't the Pilot's Lament right there, I don't know what is. I feel like this daily. Anyway, for better or worse, this thread has taken me to school. I really thought I knew this industry better than I did. Always learning I suppose.

Transport Canada...you guys are complete fuk ups and I trust you even less than I did before this shiitstorm began. You let the good guys down.
Now you be careful S&J next thing you know you will be the target of all the TC admirers here.

And some of them are real pieces of work.

Quick for one bitter, ex employee to spout off in a manner that befits a schoolyard at recess than a pilot at Jazz (they sure picked a professional pilot!).

As for the team at Perimeter, I'd say we have a good one. Annual summer golf tourneys, good Christmas parties, groups of pilots that work and socialize together all the time. Friday night hockey, where although the time slot wasn't ideal, the guys still made it out for a good skate. This year's softball team's got so many people signed up, we don't have anough room for everybody but that makes for plenty of subs and opens time to enjoy the evening. Poker tourneys, UFC's in HiDef and my favourite is just coming up (bring on the Seahawk 500!!!) when the river warms up.

I have one more point to make, regarding this response. Perimiter is NOT special. The group of pilots you have are not any different than any other 703/704 operation in Canada. There are great people, there's a few idiots, but the bottom line is, and I can witness this having worked for my share of companies over the years(big and small), is that it's all the same. Similiar cultures, similiar operating conditions, similiar bullshit happenings going on in the background. To say this is a Perimeter-only issue restricted to Perimeter employees only, shows me your lack of experience in the world, and that you don't get out all that much.

One last kick at the cat...

Just say you broke the booze rule by an hour or so, you are flying the aircraft home and a wheel falls off... they do that, sometimes. When you land, the junk comes to a stop in somebody else's hangar and you do quite a lot of damage.

TSB does its thing and the investigation reveals that somebody else at the party says they are 'sure' you are drinking when you shouldn't be...

1. insurance on the aircraft is cancelled and the underwriter refuses to pay due to the blatant disregard for the CARS
2. you are included in the suit for the damage brought against your company
3. you are fired from your job and your company refuses to defend you, keeping your last paycheque and your holiday pay to pay for the damage
4. TSB calls the RCMP who charge you with a booze offense/CARS infraction etc. etc.
5. The Crown Prosecutor charges you with criminal Negligence
6. The insurance company that covers the hangar you hit sues you for damages
7. The owners of the a/c you damaged in the hangar sue you for damages
8. After you are released from jail, with your record of drinking and flying and your criminal conviction, you get a dishwashing job at a chinese restaurant
9. Your wife leaves you and takes the kids because the Chinese restaurant is in Fort Simpson

Is it really worth it, you 'professionals' out there? If you are not mature enough to have sense of responsibility by the time you reach the cockpit of somebody else's airplane, take a few years off and travel around the world and come back when you're ready.

I'm just curious if the FAA was informed of this situation? I'm sure they have a different view than TC on a 3 week holiday.
