I’ve been swimming since June (Flight instructor, ~900-1000ish TT), was told maybe April at the earliest.
Well, aside from those cygnet grads, there hasn't been any hiring since June. Seems like there's going to be a new hire class in February (?). I've seen posts on here saying it should be 20, but I can't verify that. I imagine they've accrued some decently experienced candidates (by today's standards) that are waiting for a call in the last 6 months, so only HR knows what the top experience they have waiting to be called is or what that timeline will look like. It's hard to project the trend when the trend of the last 6 months has essentially been 0.

Remember, Jazz doesn't have an FO shortage. They are going to be looking to hire the most "upgrade ready" candidates. So I assume that will be the highest TTs in there, anything else would just be speculation.
Not true about no new hires, I just looked back and there have been at least one new hire class in July, Aug and Sep, the Cygnet class was Oct
Well I definitely spoke too soon when I said "there's been no hiring since June". Should have checked instead of going off what essentially amount to rumours.

I only see a hire class on the list in June then beginning of August, but, honestly, I probably don't have all the info.

No class in July or Sept. Not sure where you see that. Only Aug and Cygnet in Oct.

I have archive training schedules, however you are correct, the July and September schedules had 4 slots each for new hires that must have not been filled. Instructors were assigned to the training in both, so they would have put us on reassignment for those days.

Or you could simply look on the SSL which is published quarterly. Oct PIT won’t show up until Dec 31 list is published.

In any case, the fact that pace of Jazz hiring is so anemic does not portend well for staffing or flying levels in 2025. AC has published the summer 2025 schedule and there are lots of Express routes that will be flown by mainline/Rouge.

My understanding is that the shortfall still resides in the Captain rosters. I wouldn’t expect that will change anytime soon.

And there are several Captains who are getting hired by AC come January that won't help Jazz (and good for the pilots flowing as they should).

If you take AC Q4 flow plus ERP plus age 65 - there are probably 50 CA leaving Jazz between Sept-Dec.

Right. Just spoke with a captain that was hired spring 2022 at Jazz and flowed to AC end of last month.
