Nice! Shots on and off the water are much harder to come by. Nice B+W effect. Where and when and which machine?

No idea which machine, but it was in Toba Inlet in the spring of 2008 if memory serves, back before the power project moved into the large camp and prior to the fatal accident that Fall. I spent a tonne of time over about 4yrs on that program, they used the Goose as a sched from YVR at that time.

Two 215's showed up, and so did the fancy shmancy new 415..

Image

Also spotted the 310 birddog

A couple of whirly birds were on scene quickly too. However I'm having trouble uploading whirly birds! I kidd I kidd! My connection just sucks and I'll try and get the rest up later..

Being up here sure makes me want to add something with more telephoto reach to my gear. The 70-200 f4L IS is fantastic, but juuuusssssttt not quite long enough. Any reccomends? the canon 300F4L IS? a 1.4x teleconverter? Something by Sigma?

Hey everyone, great pictures, it's my first post on avcanada, so here is a brief presentation:
My name is Yann, i'm 16, and i'm passionned by aviation and also love photogrpahy.
I curently live in Belgium and my goal is obviously to become a pilot... correction a bush pilot, I just love nature and planes that's probably why !

Okay back in topic:

Love the pic below rowdy, but one question, how didn't you over-expose your sky, the dark cockpit must have required a slower shutter speed and a smaller f stop, but whenever I have these settings, my sky is plainely white... What's your trick ? sun position, graduated ND filter, post-processed HDR, I'm starting landscape photography and I often end-up with a boring and over-exposed sky. All the opposit of yours :D.

Thats Five Bracketed exposures merged together in photoshop. I`d like to get my hands on a couple of ND filters now too. Should have picked up a couple before I went north for the season, but i guess i had more important things on my mind. Here are a couple more shots..

Another thats been bracketed.
