Lol. What’s wrong with YVR turns!? Two legs for 10 credits. Sign me up buttercup.
Absolutely nothing. Imo doesnt get much better than that. I was referring more to our little 3 way (you me and cdn) tussle earlier this year/late last.
Ahh… apologies. Lol. I read it incorrectly. Cdnavater and I have had our battles and so have you and I, but it’s not about that… it’s about throwing the issues that we currently face and try to make it better. I respect you; as much as I respect everyone on this forum (apart from the trolls)

All this is, is us trying to make things better, and learning about each other, and where is best to make a nest
Hey guys, I think what Porter is doing is great, I wish you well and hope we all get to work until retirement at our chosen airlines.
I wish I could or had the balls to jump ship, I’m in the golden handcuffs stage of my career and will have to be forced to start over, hopefully that doesn’t happen.
Our battles were over emotion, I love what Jazz used to be and I am fully aware of what it’s turned into, I get defensive of misinformation or exaggeration but I also don’t encourage anyone to come here or stay at this point. Hopefully(yes hope) they can right the ship but I’m slowly losing any faith I had, something has to happen soon!
I hope you guys can get those working days down, I’m working 16 and that’s too many, 18 is not a good commute lifestyle.
Cheers

New pay rates were effective Aug 1st. 1st pay check that will have this will be end of August. Guessing ~2k/check take home.

bB is right on min guarantee. There is opportunity for OT in both seats, I would imagine people are going to do much better than the min guarantee other than for the 2-3 months of ground and sim training.

Ya the MMG sliding from 85 to 80 to 75 feels like a two edged sword. Sure your guarantee is lower (for mortgages, lending, etc) but once staffing improves itll be easier to get in the window and until then you’ll get straight time above MMG so the only ones who will feel the decrease are those unable to grow their blocks

Yes. even with the reduction in MMG, it amounts to a decent sized raise. Gains have been made. All pilots will see increases in pay, not decreases.

With the amount of metal hitting the ramp plus route growth, I feel like that's not going to be an issue (being consistently at MMG).

I don't think we're catching up with staffing any time soon - even with a decent benchmark.

And as CDN said....interesting avatar, just realized that...it's a raise even at MMG, life is bueno. I would imagine once FOs hit the tarmac post training, semi month paystubs are going to be clearing 3k with the voluntary OT. YR 2 and 3 look much better.

Flightlevel.fyi - I think the fellow developing that website is still updating some payscales, but that should give you a pretty good indicator. Don't look at the totals as they seem to be inaccurate.

Do the math yourself to verify at 75 MMG per month.

These are the old hourly rates prior to the new rates in August.
Q400 hourly rate starts at $72 year 1, at 75 hours MMG.

This pay comparison graph isn’t accurate. For example, year 1 CA at Transat is $190.26, ranging to $262.22 for year 11.

Interesting. Did Transat implement that recently? This pay scale comparison was published in late July.

Porter has a habit of using the TS narrow body scale as a comparison, which has not existed in a few years.

What is the max amount of days worked at TS?

What gets lost a lot in comparing pay scales is the days worked. I believe Porter is 12 days off a month while other’s large airlines do max 16 days worked.

So say you’re a reserve pilot in a 31 day month you could end up working up to 15% more at Porter while making making around the same as your counterparts. I may be wrong as I really only have second or third hand info on Porter but from the outside it seems like their competitive salary may not be so.

Air Canada and WestJet are both 18 days a month for full block reserve.
