As I mentioned earlier. YYC and YVR will be reduced considerably and AC will fly 220's and 737's on those routes.

Capt_z the master troll is back.
Glad to see some entertainment, and even better, people getting upset from the captain’s comments.

Hi, thanks for taking my question. Just maybe turning back to the fleet expansion plans you have, obviously exciting investments. I guess when you look at the additional wide bodies, does that require additional regional aircraft or smaller narrow body aircraft investments to improve regional lift or increase regional lift to, I guess, match the expanded wide body capacity you have, or does the regional lift you have today, do you view that as sufficient?

Hi Kevin, it’s Mark. Let me take a stab at that.
We don’t see any need for additional regional aircraft at this point in time. We’ve got quite a sizeable order book of A220s to come. A lot of those will be deployed into the U.S., where we could leverage additional Sixth Freedom opportunities, so at this point in time more regional feed is certainly not in the cards, and with the fleet that we’ve got coming, I think we’re pretty sufficient.

To be fair, Jazz doesn't have a lack of airplanes. We have a lack of pilots to keep then in the air. And the question was about aircraft order's, not crewing.rudder wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2023 10:10 am Kevin Chiang

What does the schedule look like on the RJ out of YYC without scheduled flights from base? Are there lines you can bid for that start with a DH to another base or is it just pure reserve and you just fill in at whichever base is short staff? Seems like slim pickings on the Q as well, but YYC/YVR seems to be where all the new hire classes are being sent.

The Collective Agreement as far as blocking goes, requires there to be at least some pairings; unless that's changed since I've last seen in, I would expect there to be a number of DH pairings still.

Nothing like starting and ending your 4 day pairing with 50% credit for your time deadheading.QKZXKV wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2023 11:24 amyowflyer23 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2023 6:25 pm What does the schedule look like on the RJ out of YYC without scheduled flights from base? And to add to that, the 4hr DH starting your 4 day pairing leaves at 6am and the DH returning to YYC won't land until midnight on your last day, really maximizing your time away from home. Absolutely life sucking pairings.CaptDukeNukem wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2023 8:35 pmNothing like starting and ending your 4 day pairing with 50% credit for your time deadheading.QKZXKV wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2023 11:24 amyowflyer23 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2023 6:25 pm What does the schedule look like on the RJ out of YYC without scheduled flights from base? All for min credit each day. No idea how anyone could do it for a career?fixnfly wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2023 8:49 pmAnd to add to that, the 4hr DH starting your 4 day pairing leaves at 6am and the DH returning to YYC won't land until midnight on your last day, really maximizing your time away from home. I’ll take a DH for min cred as long as my day is less than min credit . Lolcanadian_aviator_4 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2023 9:44 pmAll for min credit each day. We should get a premium during DH In uniform for Everytime some passenger sits next to you asks the following two questions while you are eyes closed with “F off” headset straddling your skull:
“hey!!! Are you a pilot!?”
“Who’s flying the plane! Shouldn’t you be up front!!”
