The 3 times I got stuck in the back, the Employee Travel website showed seats available in "J". The problem is that those J seats can fill up at the last minute with revenue passengers and Elite upgrades.
I would be happy to see a change where you would not be charged if you didn't get the J seat, and/or you din't need the increased priority. (because the A/C left with open seats).
But, I would be very unhappy if the company just scraps the whole thing because of this petition.
C1 Pass Petition Making the Rounds

C1 passes are a good thing. Just because some employees are frustrated commuters/travellers is no reason to abolish them. It is a great privelege to be able to live where you want and still work a considerable distance away. Plan accordingly. However, it isn't necessarily a god-given right to enjoy that privelege. C1 is not perfect, but it can be very handy. And, contrary to some people's opinion, it is fair. It may be extra $ but it's still far cheaper than buying a regular ticket.
The priveleges we enjoy at work are the result of hard work by those who came before us, whether via union struggle or otherwise, and great diligence should be excercised before petitions like these make the rounds, lest we should lose more than we bargained for.
Have a good one...
