Thinking of scabbing it up again?

I'm sure there will be some Ex-Sky Regional pilots who would love to come to Porter with their Embraer time. Any thoughts?

Hmm; don't be so sure, some might but it will be a long climb up from the bottom of the Porter seniority list until those who do make the move see a weekend or any statutory holidays off.

You’d have to imagine there will be a significant amount of OTS hires in the initial stages. Imagine the insurance premiums for a company flying brand new E2’s on brand new routes, for a brand new operation with 2 for Q drivers that have little to no jet time. They’d be financially doomed before they even lit a fire.
Edit for more info.
Not implying the porter Q drivers couldn’t do it, I’m sure they could easily. Just looking at it from an insurance providers point of view.

Nice to see Porter taking advantage of the fleet being parked to make some much-needed refreshment to the interior/exterior of their aircraft. Having flown on Porter quite frequently over the last decade, those Q400s were definitely starting to show their age. Clearly, Porter's management is confident that the airline industry will rebound soon if they're willing to make this investment in their aircraft.dhc# wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 1:55 pm Porter Airlines refreshes Dash 8 400 fleet

Hopefully the new seats will be as comfy as the old ones were and not like the hard plywood like seats used on the Encore Q's.Cavalier44 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 5:35 pmNice to see Porter taking advantage of the fleet being parked to make some much-needed refreshment to the interior/exterior of their aircraft. Also the 1000 lb weight saving will be huge for payload out of the island especially in the summer months.
