But....
3 BA pilots died following their 2nd jab this last week
Re: 3 BA pilots died following their 2nd jab this last week
That's not the circumstance we are in, but if we were, it would be even more important that the passenger in 32K doesn't try to tell the crew how to do their jobs.
DId you hear the one about the jurisprudence fetishist? He got off on a technicality.
Re: 3 BA pilots died following their 2nd jab this last week
No it’s not but I clearly am ill equipped to make a point to some, and while you are entitled to your own opinions, as am I, the information I have received, and my gut instinct can not go unnoticed, and it would be irresponsible to keep this information to myself. I could not live with myself when 1/10 to 1/3 of the world’s population kicks off over the next 6-36 months, and I did nothing but watch the process like a slow motion train wreck. You have been warned now, it’s up to you what to do with this data. I’m filling in your title, if it’s worth it.
Re: 3 BA pilots died following their 2nd jab this last week
JerryRig,
It’s a lost cause; continue you own researches and make your decision accordingly. Be selfish (it’s your own life after all); everyone is selfish anyway. One wants you to be vaccinated so he « may not » get covid; or to get back his normal life; but let’s be honest: he does not really care about the adverse effects it may have on others. It’s always been about Me, myself and I.
Sheeps are in power and you won’t be able to change anything. If someone ask you if you’re vaccinated just say yes

Browsing YouTube videos is not research.

Oh no, you’ve made your point. It’s just that the information you’ve received is bullshit and what you consider to be research is laughable. Your inability to perceive this is worrisome.

Re: 3 BA pilots died following their 2nd jab this last week
While I am done with this argument, I just thought I'd throw out an "attaboy" to the posters - you know who you are - who tried to get me banned from avcanada for articulating and reasoning opposing viewpoints resulting in several days of my account being locked while it was reviewed by the site admin.
Your behaviour illustrates my argument perfectly about your ideals... eliminate opposition, quell dissent, shout down discussion, cancel and deplatform those that speak out against your narrative. You can't have a fair discussion and respect other people's values and priorities and in fact are so fragile that you have to run off and cry about it when people don't agree with you.
Nice! Way to go...

I'm sorry... was it some *other* altiplano poster who permanently checked out of this discussion with a dismissivealtiplano wrote: ↑Thu Jul 08, 2021 12:55 pm While I am done with this argument, I just thought I'd throw out an "attaboy" to the posters - you know who you are - who tried to get me banned from avcanada for articulating and reasoning opposing viewpoints resulting in several days of my account being locked while it was reviewed by the site admin.

You though are a small person that tries to get people banned and cancelled for disagreeing with your ideas.
I am simply pointing it out as it's relevant to the discussion, and your denials.
Re: 3 BA pilots died following their 2nd jab this last week
It wasn't I. I'm not perturbed by arguing with you. If I were, I would simply stop doing it.

"Politely" is, apparently, another of those words about whose meanings we don't quite see eye-to-eye.

What else would you have?
Good luck?
Bon voyage?
Blow me?
Whatever...
Buen pandemic, Ciao
Re: 3 BA pilots died following their 2nd jab this last week
My biggest lesson this pandemic is it’s nothing to do with science and everything to do with values.
Some people here might call healthcare workers hero’s. To me, I just feel like they are doing their jobs. I live with healthcare workers, I have healthcare workers in my family, I have see through their lens some of what has been going on. One has literally told me they have this board of fear that was posted all pandemic when things were not that crazy. Statistics divulged to trigger you into thinking things are worse than they are. But she said any rational thinker could see beyond the message.
Any ways that is neither here nor there.
We all have different values. And my values say my hero’s are anyone who has been impacted by this pandemic being in the crossfire of restrictions. There is no fucking way I’m going out banging pots for teachers, health care workers, grocery store employees, frontline workers. Sure everyone deserves a round of applause
. Good job all. The hero’s to me are the people who had to suffer. The hero’s are the ones who suffered loss, whether it was family or fiends losing the battle to covid or any other disease and being affected by pandemic restrictions. The economic losses. The airline pilots and flight attendants who have lost income, lost their homes, etc. Who have had to manage raising their family without having a job to go to.
I can’t tell everyone where their values should be but I know where mine are. Freedom and liberties are the basis of allowing everyone to make choices and pave the path of their circumstances. Unfortunately there’s a huge group of people who are willing to take your job away and then go bang pots for other people. To me it’s completely irrational. I respect all of these jobs people hold, but I don’t see them as hero’s. I can’t understand the people on here like rockie, and photofly who constantly push this anti science garbage. It doesn’t jive with my values anyways. It’s this religious type thinking. Nothing wrong with religion but keep your religious beliefs for you and let others have their own.
The moment you have a feeling inside that you need to make decisions for other people, is the moment you need to take a step back and check yourself. Do you feel out of control? Is your life full of fear? Why do you need to make decisions for other people when it comes is masks and vaccines? This should be your red flag. This is religious type thinking. This is like telling someone abortion is not okay, it’s like telling someone pre marital sex is a sin. Step back, take a fucking breath, relax! And as altiplano says enjoy your pandemic.
Joking aside, just understand your values may not be the same as others, but that’s okay!

I completely agree. I think everyone has the absolute right to make their own decisions about vaccinations and masks.montado wrote: ↑Thu Jul 08, 2021 8:11 pm The moment you have a feeling inside that you need to make decisions for other people, is the moment you need to take a step back and check yourself. So we don’t agree, because that’s not freedom and liberties, that’s your socialist communist we will make life miserable for those who don’t comply. What does North Korea do to citizens that don’t comply with the party line? They make your life miserable.photofly wrote: ↑Thu Jul 08, 2021 9:35 pmI completely agree. What I don’t understand is how you live in (probably) the most vaccinated country in the world. Canada is likely to come out ahead of nearly everyone with doses per person and eventually fully vaccinated… yet you still have this hard on to punish those who don’t get vaccinated. Lots of suffering going on in your head.
I find it refreshing when people don’t think like you. Even if I don’t agree with them, I’m glad people still believe in freedoms and liberties. So don’t pretend you agree with me

Freedoms and liberties don’t come with an asterisk and fine print. They are fundamental values. I don’t say “murder is wrong” and then have some fine print “but if I’m angry or upset then it’s okay”.
Values are unconditional to the core, and not something you warp and change as you go to fit and agenda.
Re: 3 BA pilots died following their 2nd jab this last week
To those who don't want to get vaccinated, enjoy losing your job when whatever country that you regularly fly to says you can't enter unless you are vaccinated.
I, like many others aren't going to sit by quietly and allow out of seniority bidding/accomodation for the anti-vaxxers. Your only option will be to bid NB and bid domestic/USA flying. And if you end up getting awarded a flight you can't do for lack of being vaccinated, drop no credit. That's life, that's the seniority system you all signed up for.

As far as I am concerned; I won’t trade my integrity and my health for an airline pilot job: it’s just a job and I can happily and comfortably live without it. Anyway that kind of flying job won’t be fun anymore…
Note: I am not an antivaxx at all; but I have no confidence it this one ..yet. I just want to wait for the end of the trial (I thank you for your devotion).
My uncle just went to the hospital (3 weeks after 2nd Pfz doze); he was suddenly short of breath (very active and healthy) diagnosed with a pulmonary infection. Also a neighbor just suffered a miscarriage (7 months pregnant) she was fine before the jab.
Note 2: Seniority may work both ways…imagine those losing their medical within the next months/years because of yet unknown side effects; good luck!
Re: 3 BA pilots died following their 2nd jab this last week
The other guy said I was a fascist; you're telling me I'm both a socialist and a communist (which are different from each other, by the way) - between you, you should get your stories straight.
The thing is, we do agree on the civil liberties front. People should be free to refuse to engage in public health measures without sanction by the state. Nobody should be put in prison for not getting a vaccine.
In fact you're the socialist - you want me to pay the price incurred by those who opt out of being vaccinated, instead of those who made that choice. If anything is "socialist", that is. I'm the free-market advocate in this conversation. You're free to go without a vaccine, but I"m not happy to let that choice disadvantage *me*. Your choice - you deal with the consequences.
You'd like to cast it as argument about liberties, because then you can claim the moral high ground, always a comfortable spot. It isn't. It's a disagreement about personal responsibility. You don't think anyone should have any.
On "punishment": it's not me punishing anyone. In fact it's not punishment at all. (The only "punishment" I can mete out is to treat such people with disdain, which given my lowly place in society isn't much of a burden on them.) The consequences of not being vaccinated are going to come from employers (get vaccinated or you can't work), businesses (get vaccinated or you can't attend our bar or sporting event) and governments (get vaccinated or undergo two weeks of quarantine at your own expense when you enter our country). Those are not punishments. They're what the rest of us expect from responsible organizations doing their best to keep everyone healthy.
DId you hear the one about the jurisprudence fetishist? He got off on a technicality.
