Well, think about it this way: Your previous avatars have already caused problems and you have been asked to remove some of them before. I'm not sure why you figure whomever removed your avatar privs should notify you each and every time your avatar crosses the line. That's kinda up to you after the first warning, no?

Haz, I know that you haven't posted and personal attacks on the board and that's cool. But I want you to understand that you have caused more work for the mods and admin on the board than any other person since you arrived. I'm guessing that after a while, someone just decided to make things a little easier by removing one of the things we have had to keep our eyes on.

There is a php mod to turn off sigs and avatars. Maybe you should look into it rather than single out one member of this community.

As far as personal attacks go, apparently mods are the only ones allowed to go ahead and do that...
You are a muppet, and we allow you to stagger about like a two-year-old because mother nature has clearly done you harm and we pity you. Nothing more. Notice the use of the word "Allow". Now take a deep breath and get some perspective here. While you are at it, stop acting like you have or should have any frickin' say whatsoever on how things should be run.

I'd say no offence, but I'd be lying. Some offence.
Pretty sure that crosses the line right there. Who complained about that?

I did not remove Haz's avatar...nor would I...ever. For the love of Pete (who' Pete?) we live in a country that allows same sex marrige! We, as a country trip over ourselves to kiss up to minorities (I'm not against minorities BTW) and we ban an avatar...why? Because somebody complained about it?? I have a real problem here. I dont want to see naked fat guys/girls partaking of bodily functions....but Haz's avatars?? Come on people GROW UP.....GET A LIFE!!! There's a Hell of a lot more to complain about than an avatar! Bitch about the Government! Bitch about taxes! This really pisses me off!

Nobody did. Feel free to report it to AvCanada.

p.s. I apologize to Kermit and Miss Piggy for the unfair characterization of them.

Anyway, that's not the point. Again, I had nothing to do with your latest avatar troubles, but I can see why it has been removed: you caused a hassle for someone, again, and rather than keep on doing the same old dance I'm guessing someone decided to eliminate the problem at the source.

From my point of view, I don't have a problem with any of the avatars that Haz has put up. Then again, I'm pretty liberal in terms of what I'm comfortable seeing. I'm also well aware that there are many folks out there with different standards than I have. Even if I consider some of those people prudes, I also understand that they have potentially valuable contributions to make to a forum of this nature. I'd personally rather not see the alienated.

We do need to keep in mind that this is a "G" rated board. Yes, there is a "Don't come in here if you are easily offended" section, but avatars appear in every forum. Let's also keep in mind that it's an aviation forum. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't discuss anything else, but it should provide a sort of general guidance for appropriate topics and direction for discussions.

Finally, let's keep in mind that the admin and the mods freely contribute their own time to keep this forum operating for all of us. Would I have pulled Haz's avatar? Probably not. Do I understand why a mod did? Absolutely.

In the Canadian military, there is a classification for people called "administrative burden". It's designed to deal with individuals who have repeatedly and persistently found a way to make themselves and their problems/concerns/grievances into a chore for those tasked with managing them. If someone is recognized as an "Administrative Burden", that is considered sufficent cause to discharge that person from the military. It is seldom used, but every so often a "barracks room lawyer" will cause enough in the way of problems to become a genuine problem instead of a minor nuisance. I'm sure that you folks can see the parallel that I've drawn.

I removed your avatar Haz.

I didn't have a chance to send you a PM I have been very busy the last 24 hours.

I received some new complaints on your latest avatar and I thought they were valid.

Avatars that are complained about that have a sexual tone will be removed.

Repeat offenders will have their avatar priviledges removed.

You'll have to start another thread/poll on that subject....

Sadly, it's the lurkers that probably complained and would vote you off the island...

I don't think anyone wishes for you to leave Haz.

All I request is that you stop posting avatars with a sexual twist so that when I check my emails I don't have to deal with these kinds of complaints.

I personally have nothing agaist any of your avatars posted to date. I do understand why sexually geared avatars are found offensive by others however.

If a topic or picture contains sexual material and is complained about I plan to remove them.

Nothing personal.

I appreciate your response, Avcanada.

I also appreciate that hard work and time you spend so that we all have our place here on the internet.

The "sexual" avatar was fairly tame, but I do see your point.

Sorry for any trouble I may have caused.

Sincerely,

Greg Haza

Well, I've got to agree with Doc... I feel the same... I wonder what happens to these people who complained when they go to the beach?? do they call the police? Too many people wearing bathing suits.

I have never seen anything obscene in Haz's avatars, quite the contrary, they're...ummm...interesting...

People KNOW that haz is sometimes way out there, so if they don't like it, don't read his posts... it's easy, check the author or skip his replies...

I personally find most of his posts amusing... kinda breaks the tension and gives people a laugh... after all the bitching we do, we definitely need a laugh...

Well, I guess the point was that AvCanada should be open to women as well as men. Despite what internet porn would have us believe, not all women are lesbians who enjoy looking at that stuff. Can you imagine the hilarity that would ensue should one of them decide to post two gay men in a tongue-battle as their avatar and then post all over the forums? Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I wouldn't exactly be overjoyed.

I agree.... but then again, I would just skip over it.... I can make my own decision whether to stare at it or not...such as if i did not like reading Haz's posts, I would just pass over them, problem solved.

I geuss someone found my avatar obscene also.... Hmmmmmm

Haz :

The world is full of all kinds of people, most of us here are not so tight assed that we need to complain about your avatars.

However the forum has some rules and you are smart enough to figure that out.

If you quit your contributions over a few complaints I'll come over to Hamilton and kick your ass.
