I never said anything about the people. The only reason I stuck around so long was due to quite a few of the geat folk outside the company and some of the awesome pilots. The places aren't all that bad. I actually liked fond du lac...
Haha...Pogeypilot!! I'm probably the most northern person you've ever met. I dont know if I should take that not believing that i'm not a northern local as a comment or an insult, although it sure made me laugh. So if no one was saying horrible things about the north then whats wrong with living in these places???? OK I admit the company does suck, but it's a job, all companys have good qualities and bad qualities.
I used to work there (yes I admit it). The pay sucked ass, but I have to admit, it was the best job I have ever had. The people were great to work with, and we are always smiling and have a great time.
Only at Collins bay, the rest have a great buffet especially Cigar lake and McCarther. Pionts north is usually fish sticks, chicken fingers, wings or broiled burgers, still a great time away from base not having to turn sked or load the boiler.
lol
I just noticed that Voyageur posted some King air Jobs. They are asking for the same time requirements that Transwest is asking for a Navjo. Might be time to rethink yor requirements TWA. Good luck getting anyone!!!
If you want to go to Voyageur that's fine. Those requirements are for a right seat job (albeit with a left seat ride). But more importantly, right seat money.
Tranwest requirements for navajo captain are based soley on what Cameco and the court parties requires for all its pilots. If you have heard of ather companies flying Cameco empoyess with less time, then they were lying to the mines.
And Transwest doesn't lie to the mines? I know, because I've flown the mine runs with less than Cameco's requirements. I got my PA31 PPC at about 1100 hours, and was cut loose and doing mines the next week. It's a miracle they havn't been caught with one of Cameco's "audits".
looks like they have... they jacked up the min times for navajo F/O to 300 hours. that puts a whole lot of rampies starting their first winter, or putting up with a second in a bad place. word on the street is it's cameco's minimums. makes you think twice about putting up with their shit don't it? no light at the end of the tunnel...

YOU!! - Paid your taxes lately ?
Of course I give Transwest all my business...only company that runs up here....and no I havn't paid my taxes.....lucky me I don't have to pay that. Oh and thanks to those who do...it really pays off when it comes to education
what are the court party contract requirements. I didn't think they were as high as the cameco work. The cameco contract had a clause to reduce time if you had a year in northern saskatchewan. So perhaps that's how transwest is sneaking it's guys by?
So the CP's newest Navjo hire is a f king idiot. He's already had 100 hours of line-indoc. and he has 4500hours. He almost killed a plane full of staff returning from a Christmas party among to many other screw ups to mention, but chiefy still thinks he's a good pilot. It's time to let you ego go, and admit you did a poor job hiring this guy, before you have dead people on your hands. Fire him, you have great young guys ready to go...
