Hi guys,
Sorry for the misunderstanding with the Q400. I really like turboprops, you should have a look at my 100 email sent to 703 operators back when I had 250h

So crazy how things change, so many of us would have killed to fly a Q400 at 1200 hours. Now getting strapped into the right seat of a 737 with the ink still drying on a CPL for 900 hours makes you too "experienced" to fly a Q out of major airports! Good luck in your search!

Buffalo Joe vibes much?
In Europe you get into the right seat on a A320 or 737 with only 200hrs CPL (Frozen ATPL) and you get all your required hrs under PICUS (all 400hrs of it) and can apply for left seat once you unfreeze your ATPL.
But I guess your generation is shaking at the idea of such pilots not having to "pay their dues" up north in the cold and having to paint fences as part of their "duties".
Yes, things change and for the (very much) better, thankfully.

The lack of an ATPL won't keep you out of a 737....in this current job market.

We’re not talking about throwing bags in fort mcnowhere or flying a clapped out navajo in -30.
We’re taking about flying the Q out of YVR at 1200 hours, which I’d argue is somewhat similar to your example of getting onto a 705 machine at 250 hours.
