Re: Suspension due to Anxiety:
Hello everyone,
Just posting an update for those who are going through a similar situation or maybe just curious about this case.
This week my CAME told me he followed up and they said they check my symptoms are in remission however they do not believe I am off the meds that were prescribed to me, even though I said I was.
They ordered for me to get a Urine Toxicology screen and a pharmacy drug list to see if I renewed any of my meds, on top of that they want a letter from my DR saying I don't need the meds anymore.
Fortunately for me I stopped all meds that I said I was off of, then threw them out. In my honest opinion i think its overkill for the pee test but its fine, they just want definitive proof, not he said she said nonsense.
Everything came back negative so I have gotten through another hurdle, TC also mentioned that "if assessed fit, you will be restricted to having an acompanying pilot for a period of 6 months".
Sorry for info overload but at least they got back to me, and this seems like the end.

Re: Suspension due to Anxiety:
This is what drives me nuts about this whole process. You can have a condition that is perfectly well controlled with safe drugs and no side effects, but you will have to get all the x-rays, CT scans, colonoscopies, endoscopes, blood work (etc) and other brutal procedures every year as instructed by TC.
Oh and fair warning, you’re probably going to be asked about this on every medical renewal forever.
Meanwhile, there are guys flying while taking legal and illegal drugs and not reporting anything. This just doesn't make sense.
We are punishing HONEST pilots, and rewarding deception. Eventually, there will be no honest pilots left in cockpits. Only the 1% genetically gifted ubermenschen, and the cowboys who don't tell TC shit.
Re: Suspension due to Anxiety:
To come full circle on this, I got my medical with a restriction of having an accompanying pilot. Which isn’t an issue because I work no a two crew environment anyway.
As for the whole process, yeah it was a bit annoying. I get TCs standpoint on it. It’s all about protecting themselves, the only scenario they are trying to avoid is an accident due to their lack of oversight.
In all honesty, I probably needed a few weeks off just to deal with the issues I was going through, not 6.5 months… I wish there was a more streamlined way of telling TC directly as to what was going on instead of talking to a came and have them act as a middle man, because my god, I cannot tell you how many things got lost in translation and things were misworded between doctors, therapists etc… which could’ve made the situation so much worse. Fortunately I caught it.
The entire process made me realize just how bad healthcare is in this country, waiting to weeks-months to see a psychologist, doctors missing things due to them being so work saturated.
Nonetheless, it’s over. I’m back at work and happy again. But honestly if I knew what I knew now, I probably wouldn’t have done what I did, the process is just way too much. I can’t begin to think how people who have a family and a mortgage can do it, on disability pay, waiting for Tc to approve their medical to fly again.
