I believe you can do it. I suggest you follow through or else you will always regret not finishing. While it might seem daunting just break it down in small steps and complete the steps in order. Have a general plan on how you are going to accomplish each step and a realistic idea of what date you will complete them.

Thanks! Realistically it isn't that much left, just a very expensive part but that's how it goes!

What does it take for a school to say, “we don’t want your money”?

The ones I kicked out were for:
Non-payment, repeated late payment.
Safety violations.
Repeated late cancellations or no shows.
Sexual harassment of instructors.
Operating a chisel charter.
Being unreasonably difficult.

Schools aren’t in the position they were 10 years ago where scratching for every available student was common. Now it’s much easier to get rid of the 5% of students who cause 80% of your grief. Sometimes the customer isn’t right.

The fun part is the bad reviews that come afterwards. Apparently I am racist and a jerk which is amusing if you look at the faces and last names of the people I hired.

Yah, that’s kind of what I was getting at with my question, I figured it wasn’t that they were good students who paid in advance.
The above are certainly good reasons to part ways!

I've been working on my ratings for 6 years now and I've hated every moment due to the factors I mentioned above. Everything has taken way longer than it should, to the point I've had check rides expire. I feel like I'd never want to quit a stable job to jump into an industry that seems to only be full of problems.

Has anyone else had a bad training experience but things turned around once you got a job?

Am I being silly or have all the bad experiences meant I should look elsewhere?

Would be curious to get that question answered as well.

TBH, I enjoyed my flight training back in the day. I still haven't stopped as there is so much to learn in various areas. If you don't love aviation, I highly recommend a different career.
