My original ones were about 10 pages/lesson. A cover sheet with the Aim, Motivation, Outline, Link, TKT. A back sheet with all review questions and about one page per Outline topic in large font. Plus overhead transparencies for all the diagrams. After a few years, I stopped liking them and redid them.

After that, I made ppt presentations and didn't really need lesson plans because the info was all on ppt. (These are modified now and online at freepilotgroundschool.com)

After a few years I didn't like them much, so I drastically cut them down to a page per lesson. I can figure out the Aim/Motivation/Link/TKT on the fly. I just doodle on a whiteboard or a piece of paper now. Much more interactive than lecturing from a ppt.

To date my favourite lesson plans are by a guy named J. Thompson from 1985. Apparently this guy is still an instructor at Seneca.

I did the instructor rating in six months working full time. When I started I already had about 600 hours with the multi and group 1. The school I did the rating at gave you PGI’s as they expected you to work there, which I did for a while part time. I found it easier than the CPL and multi but again I had about 600 hours.
