From the majority of job posts I`ve seen, the biggest amount of Jobs exist in the UK and Germany. If, perhaps, I ever get my JAA, and obtain my right to work in Europe, would Germany be a prospective employer, anybody ever heard of anyone who's worked in Germany in the airline industry, or even better, that has gone and worked there in the domain?

I personally like having drivers on my team who can order dinner and drinks in a variety of languages. But having English French Spanish Italian and mumbling in my repetoire has added zero to my bank balance.

Shaved a bit off my bar tab though.

To be a pilot....one...acording to ICAO .....English
Frankly, you're right. But each language is a little push-up into your application. The more you demonstrate and sell yourself, with all abilities, degrees, languages, community involvement, links to aviation, anything that looks good on an application, the more you have a chance of getting that interview...ohh that interview!! :P
Lol - call up ACA and see how many points you would get for knowing German ontop of other languages that you know versus not knowing it. See if it's worth it - then proceed with the courses. If not save up and pay for your xc's or what ever dude. Remember you need 100 hours PIC Night XC time for your ATPL - and that's a more prompt thing that scores a much higher point when it comes to your application process. Although would knowing french technically put you ahead the ATPL candidate ?? hmm good thing to research.

Good Luck !

Learning another language, whether it be for professional and/or personal use, is a bonus. It costs you nothing to carry it around with you, and heck it could bail you out in a jam.

You *might* be confusing the XC Hours with PIC requirements
