Esso, Shell and other reputable dealers don't have tougher rules. They are just follwing the law. It is illegal in Canada to use lead in vehicles.

Well, it does sound like you had to endure a lot of quality control BS, too.
It is good that you realize the importance of these procedure. And yes, if those things are done like they should, the fuel at your independant should be perfectly fine.
Your comment made it sound like you were slagging QC in general. But that obviously wasn't the case.
