I went through yesterday. Belt, shoes, change, keys, watch; zero metal in me except for the Magnesium in the Tums I took before having to deal with these clowns :x .... No buzzer, (naturally) so- my 20th 'random' search.

have you considered just putting something metal in your pocket so they can get the joy of "catching" you up front and then let you go right through the rest?

the security at yzf is a huge joke! living in yzf and working in inuvik i was lucky enough to avoid these clowns with the exception of the occational trip south of 60. last week i started working at the airport to fill the 2-3 weeks off between rotations. the fist two days everything was fine....then there was the one security lady who was confused as to why i'm working at the airport in yellowknife, yet i have an aircrew pass issued in calgary, and i work in inuvik....it was a joy trying to explain it to her. then this morning i get through security to start working and i see my co-worker getting a very intimate pat-down next to the baggage belt.(behind the scenes) just another "random security search", one problem, this co-worker has been at yzf for about 4years now and knows everyone by name. oh another wonderful part of the day at yzf is that the bathrooms are out front and we work in the back and on the ramp so everytime you need to piss you press a button and a security person has to let you out of the back, and then 45seconds later it's the stupid scan and finger print to get back to work.
i thought it was bad before i worked there and now i really can't believe how over the top things really are.
quite funny i guess.
later.
jet.

This week was my 12th trip south this year, and I think my 8 or 9th random search (with no buzzer on the walk-through).

Maybe I should start something about the stupid revolving doors...

From reading this post, I really looked forward to my trip through Yellowknife yesterday. Having held a RAIC card, I know what a sham security is, so I couldn't care less if they want to give me the full procedure so to speak.

Start to finish, the entire trek through security took an alarming "25" minutes - even more painstaking than my visit through DCA in 2002. After being thoroughly patted down and bomb swabbed, the junior security screener obviously had a few things to learn. She thought it would be a good idea to go through EVERY single compartment of my bag, even the zippered ones that are 1" or 2" deep containing nothing.

Upon discovering my washkit, she thought poking and prodding my damp face-cloth would be a good idea. The look on her face was priceless. Next time she'll probably think wisely, and wear a pair of rubber gloves! I really did have the last laugh.

X-ray scanner is a scan device which uses the x-ray to detect objects. it can scan clearly and quickly. besides it is produced by the jkdc security company. so you can totally trust the quality
