Is there still any protests going on from the residents around the Island airport? Also... any hope of a bridge now? Just curious as you don't hear the news about that on the West Coast.

Not much is heard anymore as the politicians publically conceded defeat long ago (Jack and Olivia have even been seen on-board!). It's been months since I've seen or heard of a friday night demonstration (guess they didn't like the ever increasing audience).

Porter just released an increased Newark flight schedule as of Sept 3 getting back their 7th daily flight, greatly improved afternoon/evening slots and increased weekend schedule...an overall 10% increase than the inital startup schedule.

Next hiring should be at the end of the year or early 2009.

I saw a demonstration there a few weeks ago. As I passed by, I yelled out "Long live Island Airport!" The funny part was that they didn't figure out what I said at first, and started cheering me on. Then their facial expressions slowly changed as they processed the actual message... :mrgreen:
