Re: Hawkair?
I would just like to interject for a moment and tell everyone on behalf of us all at Hawkair that we apologize you have had to witness some of our employees losing their marbles before your eyes. Serious stress makes people behave strangely, for example by making inaccurate and skewed statements. At the end of a long day of slaughter and bloodshed they are still a good bunch of kids.

Re: Hawkair?
I'm a little off topic here but....
Just curious .. why the layoffs?
Does that mean there is a hiring freeze on CSA's as well? Does Hawk hire male CSA's? I enjoyed working with Hawk in the past and I hope to return. Getting a flying job in the recession is pretty brutal.. and I thought it would be a pretty awesome spot to wait things out ..even if its a ramp/ desk. Also, does hawk have a policy against hiring low time pilots (800TT) for ramp..yes I know I don't meet the hiring requirements for aircrew.. Like I said.. I wanna wait things out at a good spot and heck.. .maybe build up a rappor at a good company and return in a seat!!!Thats not on the ground..but in the air!
Hope stuff gets cleared up over there..
I always liked that airline and I hope things haven't changed...since i've been away!
cheers!!

Re: Hawkair?
Hawkair will survive and because of the lay off it is now a more viable company.
There are good people working there with lots of experience. As for the people that got laid off, hopefully it will not be for too long. As for the person that started this public thread about Hawkair, I find it very unprofessional but I also understand that you are angry that you got cut. Hopefully this "time off" will give you time to think about how to better approach this kind of situation in the future.

Karma you have seriously defamed "(initials removed, no names folks- Widow)" here today, in public. If you are a man you'll apologize for that at least before you slink off.
Actually, (name removed, no names folks- Widow) tends to defame himself. He doesn't need anybody's help. This clown was obnoxious, rude & "nothing but trouble" while the CP at CMA.
Karma is sweet!

In small companies unions generally form because of favouritism, elitism and the "special deals" mgmt forms with specific people or the reverse "ie blackballing". Wages, benefits, working conditions are often secondary
Re: Hawkair?
I cannot agree with you more hammer. This is not about wage increases and expensive benefit pkgs for the workers that break companies. It is about level playing fields - unions (right or wrong) attempt to address the problem of elitists and special deals for suckholes. They also see to it that Labor standards are adhered to, and that part is right. The Hammer wrote:In small companies unions generally form because of favouritism, elitism and the "special deals" mgmt forms with specific people or the reverse "ie blackballing". You will never live long enough to know it all, so quit being anal about it..

High-as-a-Kite01, I see by your unveiled agressiveness that you are trying hard to make an impact in your little world. However son, pull up a chair, put away your ***Edited*** stl and come out from under the denial rock you are living under. This "gentleman" (sic) we are discussing (you?) has done nothing but leave a long trail of destruction and disappointment since getting the axe on the coast more than a few years ago. In the process he has managed to piss on the lives of many co-workers & co-management workers alike. I submit that he is pre-disposed to continue to act similarily as time goes on. He has never learned, & doesn't know any other way to conduct himself - except abusively. Why on earth are you so blind that you can't see/admit the problems he's caused by the things he does and says?Ladies and gentalman please fasten your seat belts, stow any carry-on belongings and cover your frigen ears incase occidental speaks, occidental you are an idiot! please refrain from speaking ever again. Respect must be earned - This he has never done. The one who takes a hissy fit, fights & yells the loudest is not the one who is "right", nor the one who is respected. The jerk is nothing but trouble & a disgusting legend in his own mind.
And how dare you suggest that we hide his mess, and I"m not to make a comment on it? ***Edited*** I suggest that perhaps you be the one to stay out of this industry. Please.

I think perhaps we'll let this one cool off for a day or so.
