Re: Bid in January!!!
"Rumor Du Jour" has the bid delayed to Feb due to F/O's leaving for WJ.
Re: Bid in January!!!
Sigh I'd like to believe this but not putting to much stock in management to actually figure that out. I'm sure we will lose a lot of guys/girls to WJ but i'm sure after the reduction bid is awarded they will realize this. Then after spending thousands and thousands on training people on other aircraft they will have to retrain them back to their original position. I'm not trying to be pessimistic just going on what i have seen in the past 2 years.genetic jack hammer wrote:"Rumor Du Jour" has the bid delayed to Feb due to F/O's leaving for WJ.

Re: Bid in January!!!
Why does this seem to be on a down low? Can't the union provide some info? Shouldn't someone tell ya's it will now in fact come out in Feb? Why does there have to be only," word on the street?"
Re: Bid in January!!!
It's not really word on the street, we got a memo saying the bid will be delayed until Feb 1. The memo said this was due to the fact that the company was waiting for some final numbers from Air Canada regarding the summer schedule. Standby for furher.... it is rumoured to be a reduction bid.
Re: Bid in January!!!
My gut says they're just going to keep reducing the RJ on every bid till they finally get rid of them all.

Re: Bid in January!!!
Reductions obviously suck. I know that this a long shot, but just thought i'd throw this out. Is there any way the Union can put a "tentative" stop on WDO's (or the amount allowed)? I realize that we are allowed only two a month (if some of us bottom feeders even see one). I know that this has been discussed before, but whether or not some of us get called for a WDO, some do and quite often, a lot. Anyways, I know it's a long shot, just venting.

Re: Bid in January!!!
So if your knocked out of your base does Jazz have to pay your move? What if you own a house do they buy it out? DH you till your relocated? How does this work? I can see how expensive this must be for all involved.

Re: Bid in January!!!
The way only the company would pay for moving expenses would be if I am reduced from my current base (Involuntary move). The best thing would be to be reduce from my actual base to my previous base. I still have my re-instatement right to go to my previous base, but i would have to pay for the moving expenses wich is very expensive when it's 5000km away.

They'll put you up in a hotel too for the first month. Im not sure of all the other "perks" they take care, but they're all listed on jazzops somewhere.
It still boggles my mind how YYC has become so junior. I hope I don't have to move out there

Re: Bid in January!!!
Are there still WDO's?? I've been on reserve all week and haven't been called. It's a good thing they're keeping such good reserve coverage, or there would be layoffs.genetic jack hammer wrote:Reductions obviously suck. Glad there are no layoffs, but I feel for the guys at the bottom who get bumped from base to base!

That wouldn't happen if more YYZ CRJ F/O's senior to "someone" left for the emirates.Inverted2 wrote:Glad there are no layoffs, but I feel for the guys at the bottom who get bumped from base to base!

Too bad Emirates changed their hiring requirements. But Etihad is looking for FOs, and they accept RJ pilots.

Yeah, heard Emirates doesn't count CRJ or Embrarer time anymore. I wouldn't want to work over there anyway!
