stl,

I couldn't imagine scaling down that plateau, swimming through that river, and then scaling that cliff just to get that shot (then having to do it again to get back to the chopper!!). lol. Great shot...keep 'em coming!

And all with my SLR between my teeth buccaneer style... even fought off some pirates enroute... Whew! LOL

Thanks, glad you liked it, pretty special spot.

The old Nut Tree airport at Vacaville California was a great favorite of mine. Warm, always the smell of eucalyptus when you got out, and a short walk to that great cafe in the mall. Around the same area, Half Moon Bay.

Up here, I like Chilliwack despite the whiff of fundamentalist Christian redneck in the air, and Vernon with the old strip used to be an interesting place.

Least favorite. Fort Simpson, hands down. Came in in a Navajo enroute to Inuvik a couple of years ago. Thirsty as hell. Careful, the one person in the place says, don't drink the water. There's bottled water in the machine. Go to machine. Out of order. Guy never fixes it. Reason...native kids come off the plane and fill it with slugs or some goddamn thing. If you can't even provide water, maybe running an airport isn't your gig.
