ref phase II on the Grob. It is currently a voluntary option. Full stop. All trainees by default are "entitled" to Harvard II for Phase II training. Some are given the option but it is ALWAYS voluntary. You can be told that you will do Ph II on the Grob but you can always say no thanks.

Thanks a lot mcrit and bubby. It's still very far in the future for me, but I'm really looking foward flying the HarvardII. I also see OJT time as a great opportunity to get a lot of training and do various stuff I won't have time to do once in pilot training and once operational.

Fly the harvard! It may be the only chance you get to really fly high performance. A few months more of ojt is still pensionable and you will be better prepared to cope with higher perf aircraft out in the real world. You will not regret flying the harvard but you may regret opting for the grob.

Why don't you quit worrying about opme's etc and have some fun while you can...fast cars and slow women!!! What could be better!
