Unbefrickin'lievable It's their company, their plane, and their customers ergo (that's a fancy word for therefore :wink: ) they get to choose the minimums for who gets to fly it. If they want 10,000 hours and Space Shuttle time, then they can ask for it...if you meet the minimums, and are interested, then apply; if not, then don't! :roll:

How does one acquire such Space Shuttle time? Can I buy a type rating?

You need your multi-engine glider licence, IFR not required because you operate over 60,000' :wink:

don't you need the IFR too get from 60000 to 18000?

Its Alkan's call.

In their post they specifically want someone that can upgrade to cappy quickly. Maybe they don't have that?

This is a first rate operation with excellent equipment and employees.. you name it really. I know for a fact that they do upgrade/ mentor from within.. but sometimes that just isn't possible.

Funny thing is.....we received a resume from a guy a year or two ago with space shuttle time.

"Listen buddy....I don't know what you hacks do at NASA, but here at Alkan....." :wink:
