Re: Anti-War Left & Libya
Hmmmm.....What Americans? No one expects them to step up and no ones asking them. I wish they would, let them and Ghadaffis men kill each other. Win/Win as far as Im concerned.
Wonder how long this thread would last if someone replaced "Americans" with some other ethnic group and said killing them was 'win/win'. Biasis are showing.
I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that making the above quoted statement is a very silly thing for someone who works in the aviation industry south of the 49th to do.
As for what to do about Libya: we should stay out of it. The place has pretty much nil strategic value, (not all that much oil, not close enough to Iran to mount a strike), it's not worth the cost of getting into the middle of a civil war.

Re: Anti-War Left & Libya
So no problem saying that its a win to kill Libyans? Killing Americans bother you however. Good to know. Ill pretend I never heard you say Americans are an ethnic group too.
Re: Anti-War Left & Libya
Dude, you said killing Quadaffi's men was a win. Seemings how Quadaffi's men are currently killing their own civilians, I won't lose any sleep over the demise of Quadaffi's men. Wakaru, kisama?azimuthaviation wrote:So no problem saying that its a win to kill Libyans?
You seem to have a real hate on for your adopted country AA. What's up with that?

I really wish you people would stop feeding the troll. If he's bothering you that much and lives and works in the US no problem; just send his little diatribes to the Dept of Homeland Security then wish him bon voyage on his vacation to Gitmo.

Morning coffee in hand, great entertainment guys!
Hedley, too many G's lately?
Maybe it's not just hockey violence we need to be concerned about, I'll certify a group protesting the repeated pulling of high G's as it is most obviously leading to brain injury! LOL You are a veritable quote machine here lately! Love it!

Hedey who do you think supported him for 40 years? Our leaders did!
And you REALLY care about the lives of arabs overseas when you stood by in 1991 and today as 100,000,000lbs of bombs were dropped onto Iraq and others - a "liberation!"? Depleted Uraium left to rot their brains (a la Agent Orange).
Do you shed a tear when a brave NATO gunship mows down random people on the ground?
Or is it F'k em all and let allah figure it out?
Hedley do you realy value an arab live as equal to yours?
Our media is lies, all we see are closeups of paid people waving guns in the air and masks over their faces. Ohh scary, wha t a threat to the Military Industrial Complex! Better invade their country.
Who supported this dictator.
If you support war, please volunteer your sons and daughers to go over there to fight for your cause. Send young rural canadians overseas to kill young rural 3rd world people on the other side of the world. Meanwhile Harper and global elites play toy soldiers with their shiny new F35 jets.

Actually no, but I did routinely let my labrador retriever chase them up and down the beach in Comox. I think they started enjoying it as much as he did. By the way, have you ever seen a bald eagle when a lab keeps interrupting his lunch? They get really pissy!mcrit wrote:Come on man, are you telling me that you've never thrown your last couple of fries at a group of seagulls just to watch them spaz?shitdisturber wrote:I really wish you people would stop feeding the troll.

For some odd reason, I am reminded that Detroit, MI gave Saddam Hussein their "key to the city". I am not making this up! Google it.
Didn't work out very well for either one of them, did it?

Re: Anti-War Left & Libya
Oh, yeah, that war is still on. But no worry. The Euros are on the job. They are using all seven of their airplanes to bomb Libya "around the clock"--well, at least, from 0900 until 1200, then lunch from1200-1430, a resumption of bombing until 1700 and then rest per union rules and EU requirements . . . AND they are going to get an arrest warrant issued for Qaddafi! Wow! None of those mean ol' nasty SEALs, nope, they're going to send a cop . . . that'll work.

Interesting how 'enforcing a no fly zone' turns into bombing Ghaddaffis compounds.

With the west getting bogged down in Libya, interesting to see the remaining despots fight it out with impunity.
The Libya tactic just backfired big time...
We just created a monster, and Canada was part of it.
Strange that Russia and China saw it coming, and abstained...

Re: Anti-War Left & Libya
Anti war = anti business!! War is a business and business is good.
Vietnam workers work for less than the chinese do. Vietnam is communist. That war really broke them down good. Same old in middle east now.
No mention of little girls going to school?
An executive at a small defense contractor recently joked to me, “Afghanistan is our business plan.” I asked him what he would do if the war ended. He stared at me for a moment and said, “Well, then I hope we invade Libya.”
http://dailybail.com/home/an-executive- ... ed-to.html
The war in Afghanistan is more than just the troops and contractors who are deployed: there is a vast ecosystem of small, medium and large companies back here that support those deployed workers. Without a hundred billion dollars in war costs every year, those companies will struggle to stay in business.

Not one Canadian soldier should die so Mrs. Mohammed can vote. Let Mr. and Mrs. Mohammed decide how important that is to them.Expat wrote:With the west getting bogged down in Libya, interesting to see the remaining despots fight it out with impunity.

I still gnash my teeth over our getting involved in Libya, a fight in which we have no dog.
Re: Anti-War Left & Libya
Jake in that same arena of thought, what dog do any of us have in anything beyond our borders?
Who cares that some ass-hat imposes slave labor and kills anything that bats an eye at his policy. It doesn't have a Maple Leaf (or Star for me) so what do I care?
Bringing it closer to home, why would you care if some girl is screaming next door?
I use my soapbox on a daily basis to get on my high horse. Some "Morals" needs to be enforced.

Re: Anti-War Left & Libya
Back in my university days, we learned that external affair policies were designed not as a philantropic gesture, but as a tool to generate benefits for the country. Period. The US makes a point of stating that whatever they do in other countries, is for the security, and benefit of the American people.
Why should Canada talk differently?

Because enough people swallow the bullshit line that we are there for reasons other than our own self interest. Old sales tactic. Like it or not it works. Why should Canada talk differently?
We can't stop here! This is BAT country!
