minimums aren't really minimums when you're hot I guess

...lesson to ya...if you want to work for AC one day...even @ 200 TT...start applying now and get in the system. That applies even more so if "you don't know anyone" there.HavaJava wrote:a) never applied because I didn't have the "minimums requirements"
b) don't know the details except that she "knew someone"
c) driven across 6 provinces looking and found a job in my own backyard (go figure)
d) she said that she didn't...but maybe she was lying
e) no, for all I know she got the job because she was a good friend of someone
f) I just get frustrated when a company attributes their minimum requirements to the ministry (health, natural resources, etc) and tells all kinds of people who don't have the multi time that they automatically don't qualify. Then they hire someone below mins because they are a friend of the boss, are hot, buy a PPC, or whatever else. That's life I know...but I think it kind of says something about the company.
I've cooled off a bit since my first post and am no longer too bitter. I guess you've got to use everything you've got to your advantage and I can't blame any girls for trying to use a little friendly flirtation. Mental Vomit accused me of slander...and I did no such thing. I mentioned no names or companies. If someone happened to guess the company from the minimums I mentioned then I think we can all agree that minimums don't really matter in the end so this could be ANY company.
There's an 'A' pile of resumes, a 'B' and a 'C' pile.
A pile: Everyone in the universe that applies and is below minimums.
B pile: All applicants that meet the minimums.
C pile: All applicants that meet the minimums & knows someone within the organization.
I work for a company that holds a contract with a sector of the government.
I very much doubt that any company with that kind of privilege would risk a multi-million contract for any pilot because she may or may not be 'hot', NOR would they buy into any flirtation.
We are professionals...your initial post and replies are anything but professional.
Yes of course, then there is the inevitable invasion of the rack.Tango01 Posted: Tue Apr 19, 2005 7:49 am Post subject:

Oh yes, the power of a rack....
How many here have NEVER made fun of or bullied anyone else in his or her life. Everyone discriminates. EVERYONE. You’re just pissed because it happened to you this time.
I'm going to knock this up a notch with my spice weasle. Bam!
Welcome to the real world. The quicker some of you grow up and learn how to play the game, the better off you'll be. The game is the same in every business, career choice, and other aspect of life. Those who don't get it, and spend time whining about it, usually alienate others and significantly shrink their network of aquaintences that, as often as not, will be what gets them a good job.
Always remember the Golden Rule; He with the gold makes the rules!
As the boss I can hire someone for any reason I wish, including any combination of boobies, skin colour and experience that appeals to me. Hell, I can even hire them if I don't really have enough work for them. It's no different than you choosing where and how you spend your money as a consumer. You make purchasing decisions based on a combination of many factors, one of the most influential is usually how well the owner/salesperson appeals to you.
I've seen many people passed over for jobs and promotions through the years because they mistakenly apply too narrow a definition to the term "the best, or most qualified person."
