It's only the YYC flying that is leaving. They're still going to be operating the YVR flying.ToolShed wrote:No more AC passes?

Re: CMA to end Air Canada CPA flying
so does anyone actually know for sure if this georgian rumour is true, or its the best choice so far haha??...The AC passes still stay, we still do codeshare in vancouver, but even if we didnt, lots of companies have AC passes that do no AC flying at all...you know, the typical interline agreement.
I dont really know anything about georgian but there are some guys here that have been around for quite a while now...some guys have families and are all settled in, its about lifestyle to some, i dont see them leaving. Ive only been here a few years and like one poster said, its a good gig to get experience and move on, lots of movement lately, moreso it seems out in calgary but they do more hours than most other bases, so maybe that will be good for whoever the new people that do those routes.
anyways just ignore the brooks guy, most of the guys and gals here are good people and good (but not god like!) pilots, were all in it together

Yeah should be interesting considering 4 of the new hires are seasoned fixed wing air ambulance drivers who regularly go into Cranbrook on Med-Evacs. Dumb post.brooks wrote:I would enjoy watching some new guy from Georgian shooting the approach into Cranbrook for the first time on min fuel and bad weather. What a joke this is going to be. I hope Westjet will run them into the ground with there new regional network coming.

Don't forget to add a few captains from CMA going over to GGN as Direct Entry Captains for the YYC base as well.......brooks wrote:

Re: CMA to end Air Canada CPA flying
What a toxic thread. No wonder Canadian carriers prefer to simply wash their hands of this madness and hire German contract pilots instead.

Who let de Zermans in this thread PJ???
Re: CMA to end Air Canada CPA flying
CMA pilots and former bar xh/integra pilots. Should be a good mix.
Re: CMA to end Air Canada CPA flying
Can anyone comment on how this whole situation will effect the CMA FO's that are coming due for a upgrade? Due to the increased charter work, will FO's now have to meet contrails to upgrade? if they already don't have multi pic time, will they ever upgrade at yyc?
Re: CMA to end Air Canada CPA flying
Nice to see yet another thread where pilots think that every decision made at an airline is because of the pilots.
CMA want more money per sector. AC wants to pay less. Pretty simple. I doubt the number crunches spent much time worrying if pilots feelings are gonna be hurt.
What we don't know is what it costs to fly this traffic at the yields suggested by AC. The agreement is either on a fixed price per seat, or a prorated formula. At some point, it's best to walk away from the table.
I'm not following this closely, but if the traffic and end to end revenue is there, AC will have a replacement lined up. If the traffic/revenue can still be caught with interlining, sched connectivity and pricing, why bother code sharing?
