Careful now, people. 4 of the last 6 comments have what appears to be some measure of good, common sense. Isn't this supposed to be a bitchfest about "why do I have to wait?" and "why am I not always no. 1?". I know, let's trash the (granted, far overdue) expansion plan and continue to use the crossing runway layout 'cause that's apparently what the whiners here are happy to keep utilizing. That's the most sensible thing, right? Or perhaps they could just continue to do all the runway and taxiway expansion works without interfering with what are otherwise "normal" operations? Get a waiver to allow trucks/loaders/graders, etc to work right up to the edge of the active(s)? Sure, why not? I've seen it done once in Zambia, I think. Or maybe not. Perhaps to speed things up, we could put in a call to Mother Nature to allow crews to work 12 months/yr and 'shower them' with Phoenix-like weather. I just don't know. I'm fresh out of ideas.
