I borrowed a Silver for the last 4 months down here in Chile. I can say that you really want the 60fps (at least). I'll be purchasing a black edition when I get back to Canada for the upcoming season.

You sure it's not the SD card? What type are you using?
Re: Go Pro Hero 3 Mounting?
I just found that at 1080p 30fps (at least on the dirtbike) was not fast enough. I ended up shooting everything at 720p and 60fps which resulted in much better looking movies. Even if you just factor in the wifi remote it almost makes the cost difference 0 between the silver and the black, combined with 4k recording, awesome still bursts, 1080p@60 and 720p@120... if you can afford it I think the black is the only way to go.

Thanks J.A.C. for your excellent reply.
I think I will go with the black when I am ready. Just have to repaint my truck first. I won,t be able to mount a camera on the outside of our planes anyway. Probably some company objections.

I saw a c210 recently that had an inspection cover on the underside of the wing modified with a gopro mount screwed to it. To rotate the camera you just rotate the inspection cover. Not an ideal set up for changing perspectives. It was rock solid however and there was no chance of the camera falling off.
