Pitts lower wings will change AOA if the fuse twists, and transfer the twist to the upper wing. That would possibly be noticable in snaps.ie harder to get a nice clean stop?

Agree its an intetesting idea. should measure the flex some time .
Be a fun project for Eric:)

Wow, I wouldn't have thought a Pitts would flex enough to be noticeable doing aerobatics.

Other aircraft, well... My instructor when I was learning to fly demonstrated a snap roll in the 152 Aerobat and told me to watch out the back window. The visible twisting of the aft fuselage is almost enough to make you never want to fly in a Cessna again. Apparently it's totally normal for that aircraft, and well within manufacturer's tolerances. Just very unnerving.

(Before anyone says that's a dumb thing to do with a student, i'll add that I had completed my flight test and was passing time until I could write the written... Managed to get 5 hours of dual aerobatics in before writing my test).

I didnt see a verdict anywhere of why he landed short but it came down to a fuel pump failure. Ended up damaging the tail wheel on touchdown and damage was found on the exhaust. Not sure if the exhaust damage was caused by the landing.
