What's the public gonna think about this when faced with the choice of carriers? I seem to understand that the planes were in decent shape (northern workers) and the issues are paper related. Do They know that? I haven't seen all that much damage control in the news and hope to see some really soon. All this trouble getting up and running..... what if nobody flies on the routes? Sounds like the operation is getting close to getting off the ground. Just hope that they get the people back to keep them off the ground.

I really have no direct contact with nor operational knowledge of either Skyward or Perimeter.

However if S&J in indictive of the quality of employee that works for Perimeter I can only say they must not care about their reputation, even if their paper work is perfect.

Most of the perimeter guys are okay Cat. You get a few who think they are flying a exec a/c into LaGuardia but for the most part they are okay.

As for the competion in yth... I think it will all depend on the fleet they are left with. The public will forget about everything if they can save a dime.

speaking of Jenpeg, how has Hydro been happy with going from a 44 seat Cabin Class Hawker, to a 1900 (still okay) to a Beech 99, i guess the bottom line dictates all...
Flying tommorow??? I don't think so, still nothing on their website, and if I were re-opening my doors after a month and a half I would sure as hell announce it to the world.
Flying an exec into LaGuardia huh? I can see how some would get confused about that when they're circling at 500' north of Sham town at night, I was calling New York approach for 20 mins the last time i was up north...
Maybe its just that their uniforms are cleaner.

I don't know if I'd take it that far!! You might want to check your facts on that one.

Alot of Skywards pasangers don't have a choice in the carrier that they are flying with. For example, the medevac patients don't really have a say as far as I know, there is a central referal office in YTH. The Health authority charters medical service flights all the time for passengers with appointments in YTH, they are only looking at the bottom line.

neechi :

I'm sure most of the guys are good poeple at Perimeter but I just can't imagine working with any pilot who exibits the bizzare behaviour that S&J does on this forum...

I probably should not even comment...but...having to work with S&J is beyond my comprehension, if nothing else that weird behaviour is not going to support the hope that pilots can be considered professionals.

With Skywards reduction in fleet, I feel it fair to assume that some portion of the flight crews (and a coresponding portion of ground crews) will be laid off for good. This may be mitigated by the number of staff who have already jumped off the ship.

I wonder what morale will be like and what kind of loyalty the staff will feel towards Skyward. That itself could bring some major problems into the fold.

I work for a company in MB, medevac and charter, and we have only recieved 1 resume from skyward pilots. I am quite surprised to be honest. I wonder if this means that more of them are holding on to the possibility of re-employment than we emagine.

If that's the case, to all u Perim dudes who have made 126.7 your new company frequency, ur gonna have to start cutting back on the "traffic twenty six seven, I'm a new perimeter F/O, and this is my life story...." you're not alone on the air anymore...

Crunch, To beat this to death...you have to admit its getting better. Or it was. Its tough when there's 4 or 5 newbies per month asking "conflicting traffic to please advise" It drives us nuts when were sitting beside them too.

What happened with this Jenpeg flight. Was there anyone on it? Anybody see it go? Updates on the Caravans, 100's, 441's...Anyone?

Hey, Giligan! Long time no hear from (at least in this medium).
You are correct, I think, that the calls have improved.
Now if we could just work on Air Cree's calls which (in general) are as bad as Perimeter's ever were, but in both official languages so twice as long).

Out of curiosity, can anyone remember any size carrier being shut down for this long??? Its been what, 6 or 7 weeks, is this a sign of the times, or just the worst (longest) shutdown in history?? Or is it some combination of both?
Any bets on whats back first, NHL or Skyward???

Hey, I thought sewer tubes were run on the first day that the 1900 didn't go to YWG. Are the details of this thread so run down that we can't recall what first happened? Yeah they had a 99 and CA's 208 and a Ho running too. Chantal, I'm sure if you go back and read what's at the beginning of the thread it'll come to you. Unless all you read's the last couple of posts and comment on that. If that's the case, it's pretty lame.
