YYJ Crash. I used to work for him.
Hey all,
I used to work for this guy out of Buttonville (CYKZ) I have to say, without a word of a lie it was _the_ darkest time period of my life. The owner, in my opinion is a ruthless man who will stop at nothing to keep his ill-fated business alive.
Sadly enough when I started with him I was naive. I paid for my PPC and still regret it to this day.
On the day that I quit I went to Transport Canada to report all the wrong-doing's that he has been doing. I interviewed with Transport on many occasions in a "tell-all" format, so that he doesn't kill any of my fellow colleagues. Unfortunatly, we have nothing to be proud of when it comes to our regulatory body (Transport Canada). All they have done since the 2 years have passed is drag their collective asses on the ground. Trust me, they have AMPLE evidence to shut this guy down, but they continue to let him squeak by. At least 6 of the other pilots that quit from there have also gone to the TC, some of them are even involved in long-drawn out lawsuits.
I have since removed all entries of the flying I did there from my logbook, and set myself back about a year of my flying career. I want nothing to do with this man or his company. I have since been very fortunate to gain work as a pilot elsewhere on a heavy turbine as a First Officer. I am one of the lucky ones.
What is it going to take to stop this man, and all the others like him? A fatality? Maybe 2 or 3 fatalities? Who knows. All I know is that I did all I could. I told TC all I knew. I lost out on six thousand dollars because I was stupid, desperate, young and naive. I set myself back, I regret going to him at all. In my mind, he is the root of all evil when it comes to the aviation industry in Canada. The sad thing is that he is one of many.
There is a bright side to this. I now work for a very fair, stable and compassionate company that pays me well (upwards of 46k to start), so for those of you still in the game, don't give up. There are fair, decent companies out there who want you to succeed just as much as they want to prosper. It's unfortuante that we live in a society where this happens. Don't let it kill you.

Re: YYJ Crash. I used to work for him.
Someone should get the media involved in cases like this. Give them the goods and let them run with it. Transport would be forced to make some comment one way or another, and then there`d be something to grind them on. God knows how much the media loves aviation horror stories, or better yet, horror stories waiting to happen. It could be done anonymously.station60 wrote:On the day that I quit I went to Transport Canada to report all the wrong-doing's that he has been doing. ...not too familiar with Nexjets past, however I do know that they are flying 500-600hrs guys as pic into the interior. I really hope that they are fully aware of what they are getting themselves into. But how could they with so little time on the A/C and knowledge of the terrain.
