Ice out in NW Ontario yet?

Some high-current spots are opening up around Sioux Lookout - some of which are open pretty much all year anyway. (Frog R, Pelican N, Chamberlain N, etc.)
I am still landing on the ice in the 206 in Sioux Lookout. I'm not worried about falling through because I think all the water buggered off and the ice is just sitting on the bottom for the first half of the bay. Gonna be a fun spring.

Checked the Harbor at YVR today.
The ice is most definitely out.
Ba-Ha!
( someone had to say it... )

Yeah, I was up in Armstrong today. Most of Mattice is open, Waweig is covered with what looks like slush. Nothing that will last another day or two of temps in the 20 degree range. Didnt make it to Mckenzie. All the lakes on the way up are open.
What amazed me more than the ice being out so early though was the stupendously low water levels. It's only slightly higher than it was last fall, and it was extremely low then. Is it like that everywhere? Sheesh we couldn't get to some of our docks then so who knows what it'll be like this year. And watch out for a whole bunch of rocks you never had to worry about before too.

Boss Hawg : true, from what I see, Mckenzie is pretty much at the same level it was by late fall last year - that is, very low !
Some of the docks are probably inaccessible in the camps, and -but for the floating docks, the planes' floats are most probably gonna dock under the tires!
Most of the guys around here have to work back on their docks....
Wonder if it's this way all the way Northern Canada... Yukon, NWT ??
Like you said, probably a good season...
...for locating new rocks!
btw, where are you based at ?
