I'm pretty sure there were several predictions that AC would drop the suit once they were forced to 'open the books'. My my, what timing! Settled out of court after the judge orders the books opened? I'd be willing to bet no one ever saw the open books, and hence, the apparent stalemate, which is fine by me.

Just keep shovelling the bullshit, boys.

Rebel once roundhouse kicked someone so hard that his foot broke the speed of light, went back in time, and killed the Wright Brothers while they made the first flight.

Rather than being birthed like a normal child, Rebel instead decided to punch his way out of his mother's womb. Shortly thereafter he grew a beard.

Rebel sold his soul to the devil for his rugged good looks and unparalleled martial arts ability. Shortly after the transaction was finalized, Rebel roundhouse kicked the devil in the face and took his soul back. The devil, who appreciates irony, couldn't stay mad and admitted he should have seen it coming. They now play poker every second Wednesday of the month.

There is no chin behind Rebels' beard. There is only another fist.

On the 7th day, God rested.... Rebel took over.

Post by HarkMill »

Flight levels you are a backpeddling Fuckin moron... Your upper managers are a bunch of "cheatin, lyin, stealin, whiners"... Mark Hill was busted for acting like a pilot on an internet forum... He was outed and spanked with a cease and desist.

Clive "THE MOUTH" Beddoe was just publicly humiliated and i would have paid good money to see him grovel to Mr. Robert Milton PERSONALLY... LOL a personal apology to Milton is better than $500,000,000.

Do you think AC really planned on receiving any big payoff... NO!

But to have Beddoe and family make a publice GROVELLING apology to Mr. Milton and family is PURE GOLD.

YES it was public grovelling and worth every penny... Every newspaper in the country reported on it and pointed out the fact that the "squeaky clean" Westjet was in fact run by a bunch of immature, arrogant wingnuts that finally got fed their lunch by a REAL Airline...

Welcome to the "Bigs" boys.

Oh ya, flight levels, or Clive or whatever your name is.

WE WON, YOU LOST! and every aviation professional in the country knows it.

Milty loves ya!

Obviously some do get hired by AC without an education and you, Hark Mill, are the poster boy.

That is quite possibly the least articulate and most speculative post I have read on this thread and there have been some bad ones.

If you want to debate, at least try to make a factual point

It would appear to me that the only people that care about this work for Air Canada. Public sure does not seem to mind. Stock is up .40 cents over the past 5 days. Whats that tell you.

Please welcome our very own Flightlevels, CanadaEH, cyyz : Typical WJ Cheerleaders. A result of severe and constant brainwashing by Westjet Kultur Klub. Do not forget the propaganda from the Fireside chat provided by: The giraffe, the short fat f*ck and Doc Bell. Smile! You’re on camera

All rise and repeat after me: Oh Clive in the sky…give us our daily bread…

Well, so I don't risk offending the likes of gr8gazu, let me preface my remarks by saying they are speculative and my opinion. If that's still allowed on this forum.

I don't think AC's intent was ever to extract big coin from WestJet. It was simply to draw out the process as long as possible, making sure that every media sound bite and reference made mention of WestJet's less than honest dealings WRT to the load info access. Whether it was legally wrong, whether it was damaging to AC or not, to what extent, blah blah blah...who cares. It was still unethical and MOST IMPORTANTLY, spoke volumes as to the true character of certain management individuals.

In that sense, AC's strategy was brilliant in every regard and did accomplish what it set out to - to draw attention to the fact that WestJet's carefully cultivated "image" is just that - an image. Smoke and mirrors.

The ten million, recovered court costs, and apology are just icing on the cake. The true value of the process has been realized over the course of the lawsuit.

And no, I don't work for AC, and yes, as Joe Q. Public, it has affected my perception of WestJet, and that of other "common folk". Much as the WestJetters want to brush it off.

Complex.
Good point and that's exactly what I meant when I said money isn't everything. The 250 mil (or whatever) AC was asking for would not have damaged WJ at all financially. The main point of the exercize was to embarass Clive or at least make him apoligize publicly. I can only imagine the grin on Milton's face. The bigger picture here though is that there is a man running a company who will go to such length to screw the competition. One has to wonder what he's going to do next. I admire what he's done for his employees (although I've heard rumors that non happy people will be terminated). Now if we can just get him to play fair and keep his mouth shut.

LOL you guys crack me up...this will be old news before you know it.(too bad eh but it's the truth...I'll even remind ya in a month) I agree with complex, it was totally drawn out for certain reasons. Nobody cares about an apology exept the few here. I have always maintained it was mud on the face...look up my old posts if you wish. In fact I had to laugh the other day when I was in Abbotsford and the base manager was in the flight deck, so I asked hows AC doing out of here? the reply was the shedule was cut and those two guys standing over there are counting our loads daily... so I poped over to say hello with a smile from ear to ear....so where does that data go acer's? ahhh who cares... anyway the winners are the kids and only the few trolls here are happy.lol enjoy the summer. I'm going fishin'!

Complex, I am offended by your thinking I would be offended :)

I don't work for a Canadian carrier either so am not at all interested in the success, viability or demise of either of the two principal players. Nor am I biased.

When posters speculation is stated as fact, I don't mind calling them on it. WJ and AC have their share of nasties on this site but the AC guys have more of tendency to call names, hurl insults and swarm anyone with an opposing view of their own. That is why I will most often side with the WJ guys.

I have no problem at all with posted opinions as long as they are based in some fact.

I don't know either as an employee. Only as a customer. Both have their pros and cons in that regard.

As a former Westerner, and tax payer, I have less fond feelings for AC but that is kind of like loyalty to a favorite sports team.

I certainly don't know the internal politics of either company but to promote one as evil and the other as angelic is a total farce and displays ignorance of the workings of business.

Now Blastor, what is the basis of your opinions? Former WJ employee? Current AC employee? Just curious as to the justifications of your posts...

410.
The only problem I see with that theory is that apparantly it was Clive who called Robert and said "can we talk?" AC's books were never opened, didn't even get that far. Robert loved to hear Clive's appology. What should have been a true battle in court ended up being personal revenge between two kronies. Oh well. Maybe next time.

You’re wasting your time with this WJ crowd their so juiced up on the WJ kool-aid they don’t even believe Clive when he tells them he screwed up. It sure speaks volumes about their ethic and moral values..
