I was under the impression that the diversity requirement had been dropped. https://www.navcanada.ca/en/air-traffic ... ments.aspx
an antenna able to broadcast out toward space-based ADS-B receivers emitting 1090 MHz Extended Squitter. This requirement can be met either through antenna diversity (the use of a top and bottom antenna) or with a single antenna that is capable of transmitting both towards the ground and up towards satellites.
This change was partly (mostly?) due to the work of uAvionix which demonstrated that diversity is unnecessary to achieve sufficient performance. https://uavionix.com/wp-content/uploads ... Report.pdf

good for them since they can sell more tailBeaconX. I'll be buying one.

That's good to know, thanks for the info!

As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

Thanks all

I'll probably stick to this promo since I already have a couple Garmin G5 on the panel.

The Uavionics is a good one but I would have to add their dash device in order to use the transponder.

Where are you going to put your antenna?
Other than the tailbeacon, I can't find any location that would qualify to receive both space and ground signals.
