I never claimed I was making the big bucks, but I think I am better off than the subway dude. I see your point. But if you are trying to tell me that I would be better off maiking sandwiches for a living, you're dreaming. Definetly not the solution to our problem.

They have Subways in YTH, YTS, and YFB. You don't think they freeze their asses off up there?

Politics aside, I had a great time working up North. Yeah I froze my ass off, But if you live in YWG, YQT, YQR, YXE, etc you gonna freeze your ass off no matter what you do for a living. By the way, money was very good while I was working up there as well. It was simply not a long term gig for me that's all.

I never flew floats, but I hear it is alot of fun.

Do you have any idea what a condo in the ski hill in BC costs. Unless that sandwich artist lived with their parents all along with no bills or rent, then there is no way that person could afford that. However anything is possible, and if one is happy making sandwiches for 30K and living in their mountain condo, good for them, I am happy fo them.

BTW who the F*&@ is MC. All the guys I have flow with have been great.

You know what we all have choices! If you feel you are worth more, then say NO! Yes someone else may take the job, and yes the industry takes advantage of this. Go find the good job out there, they do exist. Remember "we all have choices" go be a sandwich artist, or construction framer ,or rig pig, ya all higher paying jobs with not much education, but then you can say." I have a profession, a career and I'm outta here" those uneducated people can't do that. They are stuck, and likely know it. A good friend repeatingly said during a low paying aviation job, all it is is motivation to GTFO, and move up and on to the good jobs that are out there. We all know we have been worth more at some point in this career, it all depends what you are willing to do about it and work to get it! So go and find it, settle for nothing less, or justify or complain about it here!

I worked with a machinist once that dreamed of being a janitor at a school board. No stress, easy job. "Hey clean up that mess." You clean it up and go home after 8 hours. The best job in the world! (according to this guy)

I don't know what ever happened to the guy, but I'll bet he's still stressing out on a boring mill dreaming of cleaning up kids' puke and some toilets.
