Hello all,

Soooo…..I’ve made my decision. I'm going to Georgian in January and I've applied to Confed for September... do you think this will benefit me in anyway? The reason I’ve picked to go to Georgian in January then Confed in September is because they have allowed me to come into second semester, and the biggest reason, I don’t want to out of school for like 10 months. Hopefully I will learn something useful that I can bring to Confed.

Does anyone know if the math you take at Georgian can be transferred? I think it’s called ‘Math for Business and Technology’ or something like that.

Good/Bad choice?

When I left Georgian and went to Confed, yes you could transfer the math credit, not too sure if you still can!

Wow, so many comments come to mind. Let's just say Thunder Bay does NOT suck and leave it at that.

I concur. I however can’t wait to be in Pickle Lake or its equivalent. I’m from Huntsville (Muskoka) so it’s not much of a difference, besides it being 14 hours North West. The atmosphere, lifestyle and extracurricular activities are similar. It’s true Thunder Bay is just a lot more isolated and the winters, from what I hear, are very very COLD, but there’s no where else I would rather be. I hope to see a lot of you up there next year. Message me if you’ve applied for September 2008, because we should all defiantly keep in touch, exchange emails, and get acquainted to make the transition a lot easier.

I like the idea above about taking a trip up there in May, count me in.

I've also applied to Confed (as well as Sault) for September 2008...

I'm sort of expecting to be accepted to both but Confed is my first choice.

I have never been to Thunder Bay though so i'd also like to take a trip up there to check things out.

Not to bust your bubble, but it's a world of difference, trust me. I grew up in southern Ontario and have been to and through Huntsville. Whole different world in Pickle Lake.

Have you ever been here in the winter? On top of that, I live on an island!
I'm just saying I do a lot of the same things that can also be done there.

Yes, I have. Just trust me on this one. One day you'll see it for yourself and know exactly what I'm talking about. You're concept of what the real north is (Huntsville is not) really like will change will soon enough. Probably shortly after graduation.

Thanks for the heads up. As bad as it sounds I’ve sworn off all women, due to a very bad break up, until I establish my career. I’ve heard a lot of pilots don’t stay up north because of commitments/obligations back home, or simply can’t hack the northern life. I can assure you I can and I will stick out as long as I have to. So if it takes 10 years to gain enough experience to relocate else where I will put in my time. Whether it’s in Pickle Lake, or another northern location. Who knows, I might even stay there. I wouldn’t mind being in the north, and above, I wasn’t saying Huntsville is the north. I was simply stating that a lot of the activities I do here, I can do there. i.e. x-country ski, swim, fish, hike, bike, camp and many other outdoor activities.

I can’t wait to start school. Thank you for wishing me luck

LOL time will tell, and time tells no lies! I assume there are some good looking women in res? I guess there’s going to be some broken hearts when I arrive. Career first. So women come in somewhere after that. I let myself become clouded once, and I won’t allow it happen again. Anyways this isn’t a dating site so lets redirect the conversation back to something aviation related.

Plus I’ve seen the scale how they rate women up there and yikes is all I have to say…… .... and for the record I dont drink

Nope, only "dresscode" they have is that of a winterjacket, snowpants, and winter boots while flying in the winter.

Ive applied for confederation 2008.

uhh, your out of high school I take it, I would recommend before you go to college go and live on your own for a while, get a little life experience before you are paying to go to college. I mean no dis-respect, however I think it is pre-mature to pay for flight training this early in your life.


It seems that kids are not growing up as quickly as they used to, I think we need to let them grow up and leave the nest a little sooner, skine is over rated, in this industry you need leather...or maybe scales lol
