Re: spread the disdain
While most Muslims are peaceful (there are a billion of them after all) the Qur'an does preach convert them or kill em, so you could argue that the peaceful majority of Muslims arn't really true to their holy book. The bible preaches turn the other cheek and most Christians are pushovers when it comes to violence, the violent Christians are not really true to the Bible. Never mind the followers then, what does the religion preach, peace or hate? Christianity and Islam both preach followers to convert others, Christians go with the "pretty please believe in Jesus" while the Muslim version is more of a "convert or die". The other religions are more along the lines of your religion is what ever you where born into and otherwise who cares.

I will agree that most Muslims are peaceful. Most Christians are peaceful. Many aren't.Invertago wrote:While most Muslims are peaceful (there are a billion of them after all) the Qur'an does preach convert them or kill em, so you could argue that the peaceful majority of Muslims arn't really true to their holy book. Muslims are more familiar with the text of the Quran, versus Christians. Both the bible and Quran have text that can be interpreted to promote violence and rape. Despite what the books say, in real life, I think it's a gross exaggeration to paint everyone on the basis of the actions of a relative few. Simple minds will do that.

Yah it's funny, all the people who choose not to believe in christianity (and that's fine by me), then choose to mock and laugh at those who do believe.GilletteNorth wrote:One thing I've noticed while reading through the forums is that when posters mock religion as fairy tales or fantasy, they almost always choose to refer to the Catholic/Protestant belief in Jesus. They mock the bible and instruct readers that they should choose not to believe in fairy tales anymore. What I'm wondering is if Christianity is a fairy tale, why aren't Islam and Judaism and Zoroastrians and Buddism and Shinto and Sikhism and Scientology and every other type of religion in the world mentioned as well in an equal degree of derision?
Gee, if youre so peaceful and cetain of your beliefs then why mock others?
I do not believe in Hinduism but there's no way I'm going to mock them. In fact their rituals seem nice and peaceful anyway. I'd happily join in for a sense of community.
That'll buff right out
