True. There never was a cash bond. They WERE a promisary note. They've both been eliminated.

Cash bond or promissary note, it doesnt really make any diffference in the end.
Even worse knowing that for evey plane order they did, 2 Crews (4 guys) were trained at no extra costs.
Dude, you dont know why? since last August they've been talking about changing conditions...what happened so far? Nada. Ah well yeah they change the policy about where you need to stay.... Do you think guys dont talk in the company?! Everyone had hopes that salary, perdiems and block awards could change.... but now how refined the whole Racoon mentality is? Has it ever been that refined or it's all complimentary smoke an mirrors?

Hey Clark Kent, why not leave the internal Porter battles to those that work there. You're sounding angry which is not helpful or productive.
By the way, I like the profession listed under your profile. Frexican... good one.

Re: Porter groundschools?
They also got rid of the uniform agreement as well for the support staff. (Ramp, CSR, OPS, anyone else required to wear a uniform), so it's not just Pilots who are starting to see things improve at PD. For one I am glad to see things are getting better at PD for the employees.

Re: Porter groundschools?
Surely Happy for the bond thing, for everyone. Really Am. Its unlikely that the bond thing will ever come back for them.
But realistically, this comes when the payscale review has been overdue for some times now. IMHO, we shouldnt be praising them like that when that's probably the last resort they have at the moment since they obivously trying to gain some time for the conditions issue and make it look good for the pilots, showing that they trying to improve the conditions. The actual gain is for the pilots/stafff that havent reached their 2 years comittement. I agree its probably maybe 50% of them.
The uniform isnt worth 3K, that's for sure. It's not tailored. The Senior guys cant even get brand new replacement of their overworn uniform. All they get is used clothing from the closet....
Overall, improvement. Slowly but surely!!!!
Cheers.

Re: Porter groundschools?
Anyone in the pool heard any news yet? I've heard they are really sticking to that 3000 hrs with an ATPL now for FO's. Latest I heard was the next groundschools won't be until early in the new year. February, March... As for interviews, who knows. I'd be kind of curious to know how large their pool of guys ready to go is right now.

Re: Porter groundschools?
This direct from the boss. 1 class in Jan, 2 in Feb, 1 in March. The capt vs f/o ratio will depend on upgrades this fall. At least one class of upgrades maybe 2. Hope that helps for anyone waiting. good luck to all.

Re: Porter groundschools?
Always 10 per class. That will cover the hiring for the next 4 planes then the next bunch of hiring will depend on when the options for the next 6 are exercised. Don't be suprised to see that by next summer. All deliveries by September 2012. The pool right now does not quite cover the needs for the 4 classes at the beginning of the year. there should be more interviews before the end of January.
