yes, i feel really badly about having over $6000 in my pocket after working under 80 flight credit hours and no overtime on the D8 last month

we really should have given all of the money to those 70 guys on the 757

Some quick math for ya. 35 FO's that should have been making around 100k = around $2000/ year pay increase for the other 900 FO's it sounds like you guys got a lot more than that as a pay rise. Was it because you were already being underpaid? and now your not? except for the guys on the 57 that are still being underpaid?

Nobody was forced onto the '57 they bid it. So if they didn't want to be "under paid" as some would suggest they could have stayed on the CRJ and be over paid.

"Fred" just give up buddy, some folks will just never get it.

Just ask some AC guys how they feel when the top 777 guy works the least and makes a butt load more than the EMB driver who works his nuts off.

cause your a teacher I will try to illustrate to help you understand the race to the bottom...

would your rather fly a

1- beech 1900 for CMA
2- beech 1900 for Air Canada

the more aircrafts we pull to the lower tiers the less interesting the profession will be. In 20 years when your kids will become pilots they will be able to fly a A320 for 35 000$.

If you are dreaming to fly a Air Transat A310 or A330 at Jazz then you don't understand that it would be better to just leave more aircraft in the better companies and then just move to those companies: Way better for the profession

but I guess the Skyservice boys that will lose their house will feel better now that MattedFred is making 6000$ a month... Thanks Fred your a great example for the future of our profession

Jazzbeat,

You do realize that JALP responded to an RFP that TC put out because they did not wish to maintain their relationship with Skyservice?

You do realize that Skyservice pilots would not have been able to keep their jobs even if JALP chose not to submit a proposal for the TC RFP?

If you or any Skyservice pilots blame any JALP pilots for the demise of the TC flying at Skyservice they are solely mistaken.

I highly recommend that you attend your next LEC meeting and voice your concerns to your LEC as I suspect that you will learn a great deal about the TC RFP and Status Pay.

Jazz MEC were in the negotiations to steal the flying from Skyservice before TC even asked for outside proposals. Ask IALPA. That's why they didn't publicly back Jazz ALPA like they did with AT. They stole from their own ALPA brothers!

Well, with a status pay system I'd be making more with AC so I'll take the 1900 at AC please. I don't give a flying f&*K about aircraft type anymore. I've learned that lifestyle and job security (as best as you can get it in this industry) is the way to go.

OK, time for the last remedial status pay 101 attempt......

There is a very large pot of #$$%# $$$$$$$. This pot of $%%$ $$$$$ is generated by the MARKET rates that the $$%^% aircraft are costed out at. XXXXX number of pilots are paid out of this $%%^^ pot of money based on their years of service with the company. This allows pilots to fly whatever #$%% aircaft turns their crank without resorting to chasing $%^^%$ metal to get more of the $%^^ pot of $$$$$.

Understand. Good.

What is IALPA?

Skyservice pilots were not ALPA members.

So what happens if these 757's don't materialize? Or they are not required long term? Are you all going to happily take your pay cuts?

As you noted before re: 777/EMJ, in most cases a/c type directly affects lifestyle.

Sage, its IFALPA, and Skyservice were not members of that either

Amateur T's , if the '57's don't come, our pay will stay exactly the same. It will increase for ALL pilots with the addition of aircraft.

Sage,

Please provide supporting documentation for your comment regarding IFALPA as it contradicts the letters of support our MEC received from IFALPA.

Perhaps you are referring to the $1 million that TSC received from ALPA? FYI, JAZ received $5 million.

Good Luck with that.

HELL NO. The question was:

I'm very happy at Jazz thank you but if I had to choose, a status pay system with larger aircraft would increase my salary.

Sorry flyinhigh, but teacher is correct. The job security and lifestyle are superior at mainline for most people. It's not a difficult concept to grasp.

And you said that Skyservice is an ALPA carrier, and that Jazz is stealing work from their "ALPA brothers".

I said you don't know what you're talking about .. Skyservice isn't ALPA .. and the Jazz MEC didn't steal squat. Accept it and get over it.

I don't care who is ALPA and who isn't. Question..how is Jazz going to operate these aircraft at a profit when Skyservice couldn't? Actually how is Jazz going to operate these aircraft at a HUGE profit when Skyservice couldn't?

Lease rates cheaper? Fuel cheaper? Crew rates cheaper? Landing fee's cheaper? Dispatch cheaper? Maintenence cheaper? How was one company losing 10 million a year and another making 20 million a year running the same aircraft?

Jazz is hiring 50 at 40,000 a year, sky just lost 150 making 100,000 a year. Carry on.

Gee, and I guess that TUI moving all of their work to Sunwing had nothing to do with the demise of SSV either. Does Sunwing pay as much as on the 737-800 as SSV did on the 320? Probably not. This argument is inconsistent and full of holes.

SSV was a 'dead man walking'. If there is any blame to be laid then it should be directed at SSV senior management for not telling the employees the truth.
