Instrument time

I did my first IFR reride in 1972 and that means an average of 2 rides a year ever since and not once have I ever worn a "vision - limiting" device EXCEPT darkness or the inside of a cloud. What I have done is throw a book or something in the windshield if I think it is apropo. Usually with a newbe.
The average pilot, despite the somewhat swaggering exterior, is very much capable of such feelings as love, affection, intimacy and caring.
These feelings just don't involve anyone else.

Oldtimer :
There were times up north when a vision limiting device would have been welcomed, a paper bag....
But that of course has nothing to do with instrument flying.....

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.
