Canjet has postponed its next GS until we know for sure when your team lays off. I'm sure we will welcome all those who choose to come over.
A reply one of my Air Transat laid off colleagues received from Canjet just 3 days ago:
merci de votre intérêt pour CanJet mais malheureusement en ce moment nous ne recrutons que des pilotes avec 737 endorsement
the above signed by the Canjet chief pilot.

If your post was meant to be a joke........

There are lots of pilots who left Canjet and are going to be laid off at AT that Canjet can pick up on a contractual basis. Pilots whom Canjet has trained and paid for. I can't see any reason to train someone through an initial course (2months) and then have them just jump ship back unless they plan on staying full time. IMO..

All those who have a 737 type rating.

If it sounds too good to be true its probably too good to be true.

Does Canjet still impose a $30000 training bond?
Do they want to get the remaining value out of these people?
Or is it easier to hire a temporary foreign pilot who was
probably state sponsored by their bankrupt European government?

Cmon!! Canada has a strong economy and these owners and executives will
do whatever it takes in the spirit of personal profit to take advantage of Johnny Canuck
pilot . But safety is our number one concern....

Keep up the fight Gilles.

In an ideal world CJ and TS would work out a deal where laid off pilots from TS would go work for the winter at CJ then come and work for TS for the summer, make the agreement for 3 or 4 seasons so Canjet could get an adequate return on investment from their initial training costs. TS keeps the experience in house (as opposed to losing guys they've trained to the mid east or Asia) Canjet gets experienced "seasonal" Canadian pilots and pilots get a stable good job in Canada....it's win/win/win...

I realize it's also a pipe dream, but I'd be all over that.

Perhaps ALPA is cooking something up in the back room :)

Cheers

What you proposed here is a very good idea that I would not call a pipe dream. However because such an arrangement would need for many details to be thought out and put in writing, it can only be made possible with the will and full cooporation of not only both compagnies but of both union MECs. It is possible. I would love to see it happen.

That would be really good to see. I sincerely hope someone can put that together.
