That's actually the "official" way of doing it. The problem is that the aircraft sits in the US while the FAA de-registers it, TC gets confirmation from the FAA that the N-reg has been cancelled, and issues a temporary registration and a temporary C of A pending import inspection. How long did all that take you?
DId you hear the one about the jurisprudence fetishist? He got off on a technicality.
Re: nav Canada collection
I'd have to go back and check my records for exact dates/times, but I believe I took care of all of that in about 2 days with a combination of email and faxed paperwork. The airplane had to sit in the US waiting for the weather to be good enough for me to go get it anyway, so it wasn't an issue.photofly wrote:That's actually the "official" way of doing it. I would believe that, if I didn't get an invoice after the only thing they said on the radio was 'stay out of yvr airspace'. For that, I get an invoice for 'service' at the daily rate. In any other field, that would be deemed illegal, you cannot bill a customer for a service you did not provide.parrot_head wrote: It all comes down to managing workload and putting the controller in a position to be able to provide the best service possible.

The daily rate means you either landed or departed YVR/AM9, if you did neither that day then do something about it. Seems pretty simple.goldeneagle wrote: I would believe that, if I didn't get an invoice after the only thing they said on the radio was 'stay out of yvr airspace'. Re: nav Canada collection
talked to navcanada about their collection agency methods and how these represent navcanda. guy was clueless. They should be able to read the AAIRs and this would solve all the problems. Also asked why light twins radio permit was 3X the value of single. There is no correlation between the airplane and the amount of radios etc. Could not get a substantive answer, just bureaucratic double talk.
Re: nav Canada collection
What do you mean by radio permit? Radio licences come from Industry Canada, and you don't need one to fly to the US...

I was told you did! Just don't need one any more for flying in Canada. Of course I'm trying to figure out where to call to get one for my plane but the website sucks beyond belief. Keep getting the maritime licensing pages...
