Regardless, I have met a very good friend because of this website who also helped me get a job without having even met me. That will be, for me, the best thing about AvCanada.
I voted no btw. Would be nice to have a little more civility on here but censorship is not the answer.

We now have multiple people referencing Rookie as their main reason for not using or engaging any further. This has clearly not gone the way he expected. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if most of the "yes" votes come from his alt accounts. Unfortunately, this will not lead to any self reflection whatsoever as its more than obvious he sees himself as the beacon of truth on a dark stormy night.

How do you define primarily? Am I still actively involved in GA? Yes! Have I flown more GA types than you? Just about guarantee it! Do I have more GA hours than you? Absolutely! Have I flown GA in multiple countries and continents? You betcha!

But even if I didn't have any of those qualifiers. The fact that you feel free to yap about professional pilot matters without having ever been one, I believe would give me the freedom to do the same about GA.

Folks,

Maybe it is time to have a poll for a system wide block function on Rookie(even if we would never actually follow through on it).

Based on the replies, it appears that he IS the problem and the reason more people are not posting. I will give him credit for outing himself though.

And now he is attacking me on another thread in the same style that he criticizes here.

First off; If you think this site is bad now, your head would have imploded if you were here in its heyday in the early 2000s.
Second; GA mentoring GA leads to negative dynamic stability.

I’m a long time lurker on here. GA pilot ppl. Mostly to read the bullshit arguments and feel better about my lame life. If I want civil and informative GA forms I use the American owners type forms. Rookie is one of the main reasons I hardly ever come on here anymore. He seems to be deeply involved in all the worst threads I have read.

If you’re so butt hurt maybe just stay away……It works for me.
Gee, if you’re looking for that pilot in a rush……

http://www.avcanada.ca/forums2/viewtopic.php?t=179112

“I own a 182. Hoping to do a quick IFR in in. Somewhere that does a accelerated rating. I was hoping to do a harvs air ground school and have the exam written. The. Just do the flights in one go then the flight test.”
How is that relevant?

Are you aware of the irony of making that kind of posts in this topic? You are literally doing what you're supposedly trying to prevent...

If the block function were to be implemented, it's very likely you would see a blank page, and you can just write whatever you want and nobody would see it. And I bet you'd still find a reason to complain...

As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

Making fun of dead pilots?

Digits you’re now dangerous close to trolling just because you disagree.

You can say all you want “nobody mocked the PA 32 pilot, his occupation his passengers, family or faith”.

You’re not entitled to make up your own facts. It happened, multiple posters, and this site cheered it on until I had it shut down. Ghouls.

The poster above just referenced the pilot’s wife on the accident thread. Where is the line here? Gonna send her an email telling her how stupid her husband is? WTF is wrong with you people? You’d never put up with this if it was a commercial pilot. Not a chance.

If I EVER personally mock a dead pilot, who they are as a person vs their decision process, i invite you to call me out.

This is 100% about that issue alone.

Not sure if there is that many General aviation pilots only in this forum though...

But why restrict your topic to this particular group?

I guess anyone whom flies "commercially" is a prick, an asshole, and automatically falls under the category of troll - unless proven otherwise.

So... does the GA only thing mean that no one with a CPL or above is allowed to comment? Are the "forums" now going to be restricted to those whom produce their medical certificate and an SPP/GPL/ULP/RPP/GYP/PPL, etc., et el?

Use the foe setting instead of the moronic or public service announcement comments about aircraft safety.Unless, of course, one of the groups on your enemy list is "quoted."

Honest question. Offer your services as a moderator to this site’s owners, you are obviously quite active on this site and no doubt feel you can contribute to the quality of the GA sub section. Nothing wrong with that and if you are granted mod status then you will have the authority to step in when comments get distracted. Just a thought that’s all, nothing more to read into it.

That's the point you're not getting, Rookie. It has nothing to do with your qualifications and everything to do with your attitude. No one cares whether you've been this or that. It's your entitled and know-it-all attitude that gets you the replies it does.

I don't believe this is a problem with avcanada. It is just a reflection of GA in Canada as a whole. If you visit r/flying you'll notice the same from GA to professional matters. Posts and questions that elicit hundreds of replies when they're regarding the US, generally only get 10-20 at best when they're about Canada. Sometimes they even go unanswered. Canada is a very small market when it comes to GA. Why don't you come over to r/flying? It has a healthy GA community and strong participation from them. I warn you though, you'll be treated in kind.

It seems to me that this is a situation where the KISS principle applies. If you want to post here under your own name, knock yourself out: there's nothing to prevent you from doing so. If you want to post under a pseudonym, for whatever reason, you can do so. And if you want to take advantage of your anonymity to indulge in bickering and name-calling, rather than making a substantive contribution to the forum, you'll become known pretty soon as "that guy" and will be called out as such.

NO block

rookie is such a hypocrite it makes me want to puke. You mentioned people are privileged to read your Twitter posts? Any one using the troll word as much as you and boasting about their followers must be such a winner LOL. Was it so vile of me to pm you and tell you to stfu about something you don't know about.. an airline you don't work for. (That was like a year ago) sooo vile. Sorry I hurt your feelings and it still burns. You don't fly for a living but you talk like you do. Arm chair wannabe pilot. You should start a G.A. exclusive forum... use your business prowess LOL

Sounds like you got put in your place finally
