I agree with fish, KR may not be the craftiest guy to run an airline, but I think given the option of shutting CJ down again last year, he opted to run it as a charter, probably moreover for himself rather than anyone, otherwise he woulda started his what 5/6th attempt at an airline, he's kinda like the nicer version of ML(jetsgo) but still should just give up trying

Rumor has it that Cj's less than brilliant COO is finally parachuting into the headquarters of one of "Canada's 50 best managed companies" (IMP).
Good luck to the replacement.

it's true. And looooong overdue.

The new VP and GM is well respected and I have no doubt he'll do an outstanding job.

I am sure the HR lap dog will follow her to the mother ship. Just get rid of the DFO and you will have the start of a good company, maybe people will want to work there again.

GB, do you mean the personality-challenged, nose-in-the-air, roll your eyes and sigh deeply at the first sign of stress DFO? that one?

Sorry if I offended you Jock Strap. I will edit this one, I was drinking when I wrote it. But make no mistake about this, this is personal.

Thats easy...KW and he is perhaps the answer to many of problems CJ has had for years...too bad they didn't have him at the helm months ago and perhaps Sept/2006 wouldn't have been the end of what was a viable airline and a fun place to work. Good luck KW, I hope that JG hasn't dug you a hole too deep.

And to JG, now you won't have to worry about a COO's duties interfering with the Costco Wednesday Morning Door Crasher Specials!!

whoa wed specials at costco??im a little upset that i didnt know about this,No wonder she missed the meetings.Kw is a good man.Hopefully good things forward.Soo whats up with the leases on the 500s.Arnt they up next month???how long are the new leases?

I agree KW is a good choice but I'm not expecting much of a change. He's still got to try and convince R. He's going to have a hard road ahead if he actually wants to makes some changes. Pilots are still heading out the door. We're just experiencing a lull right now. The last wave has gone and the next ones are just completing their interviews. I'm expecting late may early june for the next exodus.

A neighbor of mine is good friends with SP of IMP. This is KR’s right hand man, and essentially 2nd in command of IMP. He is really pushing KR to drop this airline gig as it’s a money loser and a liability to IMP as a whole.

I see it like this...JG stepping down as COO, in my opinion, is merely a strategic move to keep her hands clean and circumvent her association with its failure. This way she won't have it on her resume when they close the doors for the last time.

I hope that they don't pin its failure on the best COO they have ever had with KW!!

Fact of the matter is, none of you know jack sh!t about what the company has planned, or no-one on this site anyway, one person knows what's going on thats KR, the rest is speculation and rumours.

I wish them all the best, CanJet has a lot of nice people working for them.

well i would have to say SP has alot to say about about where Canjet goes as he is KR right hand man and has been with him for id say over 18 years or so.I have heard he wanted Canjet wound down over a year ago.
soo its not new rumors. The leases are up on the Ac and "rumors" are Uncle Kenny wants a 3 year commitment from his customers(at) for the whole term of the renewal of the leases.(3 years).Just rumors.......

Like I said, thats only my opinion, and I don't claim its fact. If we based this site on facts only and exclude speculation then there would be a lot less to read.

I agree to that, but being guilty myself a lot of people on here speak as if they know the facts, based on personal grudges and hatred.

Look at all the comments about Canjet. Harmony just shut down and there isn't so much as a peep about what's going to happen to them. Must be a product of how the airline was run?

by complexintentions
Could it be because Harmony was a fraction of the size of CanJet and didn't have a habit of shutting down every couple of years?

I heard a rumour (and we all know the validity of rumours) that there may be an initial groundschool starting in June 07. I haven't seen anything concrete on paper to back it up, so it probably is just that....rumours.

Mind you, in talking to some of the check pilots they seem to think that initials are inevitable. The minimums of 5 kilo-hours and a valid ATPL still seem to stand firm. I suppose reality will set in when they don't really have sufficient applicants and this might change.

I for one really enjoy being back to work with CanJet v2.5, but I do miss all the good guys (and girls) who left for greener pastures.

I heard a rumour about someone who went to AC, then left to go back to CJA?

What's the story behind that?

Posted: Wed Apr 18, 2007 9:54 am
by rickenbacker
There's really no story to that. AC isn't for everyone. A lot of the people I know that have left for AC or WJ have issues with it. Especially if you're a little older, with a family and commuting. It's hard to do all that on 37grand and keep a smile on your face. It's just hard to start over again.
