What do you think the chances are that you will ever in your life encounter the GPS saying you're 0.5nm off when the ADF says you're on track, while you're flying between the FAF and MAP? I think I'll have about 20 engine failures before that happens.

You'd have a point if they decided to reduce the obstacle clearance requirements for the NDB approach and still have you fly it on an ADF. But they didn't do that. You get tons of clearance from obstacles when flying an NDB approach. So you now saying that NDB approaches flown with the ADF arent safe anymore is ridiculous in my mind.

Can you show me any information on an accident that had a contributing factor of NDB/ADF lateral track error? Is there even one accident in the history of aviation with this contributing factor?
