Absolutely they do... I personally know of at least a couple at TC with experience as inspectors and AME's on 747's.oldtimer wrote:I wonder if anyone at TC has the expertise to do a visual examination to determine if the operation is safe.

So I am assuming that the supposed maintainence issues were dealt with, and TC and the FAA were both happy with the current state of the airplane?Murphy wrote:TC has issued a temporary flight authority to this aircraft. It is scheduled to leave YQT at 0030z Dec. 16.
Destination is MMTJ.
The FAA has given it authority to overfly the USA.
Do Not Assume
Do not assume that the maintenance issues have been handled...this is GPI and KA Paul..if he can get away without fixing something he will..... Here's hoping that he has a highly qualified crew to get it out of YQT.

The behemoth is gone. Departed 25 from B....nose in the air by C and off well before the intersection!
"The ability to ditch an airplane in the Hudson does not qualify a pilot for a pay raise. The ability to get the pilots, with this ability, to work for 30% or 40% pay cuts qualifies those in management for millions in bonuses."
Matrix and Tijuana plus GPI 747SP
From what I understand Matrix is now just a hangar...the plane was parked on the ramp by the hangar. No longer a repair station....
