Lake or Trees?

Two engines, or at least a single turbo prop. 172s etc., fly high enough to have the Trans Canada Highway within gliding distance.....I'm not a huge fan of water, or trees. Guess, if the time comes, I'll play the cards I'm dealt. Circumstances alter cases. There are SO many variables that making a hard and fast RULE, sitting here on the couch, with coffee in hand, would indeed be silly.
One important thought. If you have to dead stick the puppy, you're stuck with what's in gliding range.
IF you're caught in weather, or you know your fuel won't get you where you want to go, do SOMETHING while YOU still have some control over the situation.
